Two kinds of people here:

1) The ones that want to continue reflecting on the glory of last season and enjoy the Champions League before eventually going happily back in our box

or

2) Those of us who wanted to progress and continually challenge the big clubs and build on from last season. These people aren't going to be happy with how far we've fallen from grace this season.

You've given a binary choice, which is very unwise.

Rather compete for different trophies now the PL Is done, tbh.

This CL season will be possibly our best ever opportunity to actually win it. And there's a chance as I think some of these legendary teams like PSG, R Madrid and Bayern Munich are actually probably not too far ahead as a superior quality team from us. Let's hope the positive adrenaline in the CL so far continues to try and make another sporting shock.

But, still want us to take the FA and League Cups seriously - though we'll probably give mainly the reserves for that and be more laid back about them to avoid players being knackered.

Hello Gerard me old china :)

I realise I'm probably coming across as more of a 1) kind of person currently, and will quite happily go back into my mid-table/yo-yo Leicester box one day - safe in the knowledge we achieved our lifetime dream.

Having said that, I'd suggest 1) kind of people also wanted progress and to continually challenge the big clubs and build on last season.

The difference I think, is that some 2) kind of people actually believed that might happen, while the 1) kind of people don't believe that's realistic for a club like ours.

Even after last season, I don't think for one minute that we'll ever really establish ourselves as a regular top 4/6 side in the PL - even though I'd dearly love that to be the case (I just can't see us long term being up there with the big London and North West teams, even with our rich owners)

The funny thing is, after being accused of 'happy clapper bullshit' and 'moaning at moaners' this season, it looks like it's actually me who's the pessimist lol

Are they the kinds of 'if you ain't with me you're agin me'?

I watched Gary, Gary, Gary last night - interviewing and observing Alan Pardew and Palace. He asked Pardew whether he read 'social media' - he said he was aware of what was being stated but didn't spend much time doing so because it wasn't positive or productive. But he said that the players did. So if Palace players do so will City players.

If I was a player and read some of the crap written on here about me or my colleagues I'd say fvck the ungrateful cvnts - we win the Premier and are performing excellently in Europe and yet there's still moaners out there criticising us at every opportunity.

There's nothing wrong with constructive criticism - there's some real scholars of football on here, who observe and analyse with real insight, but there's them who come out with grade A sh1te.

The truth is that the moaners are just made that way - can't help but find the negative in life. Not only is it unpleasant reading the tripe but it gets utterly boring. We have an intelligent and incisive manager - who understands the problems at the heart of the drop in form and is trying to adapt the team to get back on track. I'm sure the lads also want to achieve that status again -  but you don't replace a Kante overnight or, indeed, a Steve Walsh.

Yet there's the same old out-of-touch whiners who think that buying players and selling those they see as 'crap' will work some overnight miracle. Or just singling out some player for abuse because he's had a poor game - the 'scapegoat principle'.

The bad news for such is that it's wasted words - as I suspect mine are. But I'm with Fuchsy - who doesn't fit into either of your categories.

What Gerbold said. Plus what annoyed me the most on Tuesday was that some people couldn't wait to lay into Andy King (for having the nerve to be selected). It came across a bit mobbish, and although I know this isn't the case, it seems as if people wanted him to fail. It's as if people are getting joy from the negativity. We are coming across a bit self entitled and Spursy.

I guess there is bound to be a bit of a hangover amongst the fans, as well as the players, after the most extraordinary period in the clubs history. I think we'll have a decent 2nd half to this season btw.

I like this thread.  Many aren't discussing football, they are moaning.  A moan is a negative comment without any merit or substantive value (i.e. "Ranieri Out). In fairness some have put forth contructive seemingly negative comments, which I think are necessary in a forum.  The worse are the just plain moronic comments like "we need Pearson back" lol

One thing I'll say, is that much of the "moaning" wasn't moaning. It was pointing out we didn't play very well. There were very few people going over the top in terms in their opinions on the players or the manger. Other than some flange who was going on about sacking Ranieri. After pointing out we weren't great we were told to go support Arsenal, that we weren't real fans, that we weren't realistic and any number of other insults were chucked about. Essentially saying that because we'd won we had no right to say we didn't particularly enjoy the brand of football and our performance.

It wasn't a bunch of perpetual moaners, it was actually a large majority of the forum from very different sides of the negativity spectrum. I'm far from negative, in fact I'm accused of being employed by the club because I'm fairly positive prepared to give all managers and players time and the benefit of doubt. But I'll call a performance as I see it... and it wasn't very good for me. That doesn't make me negative.

It's not "many", those people are in a very very tiny minority.
