nothing against criticism or moaners....but!!

Yesterday the whole day was a real moan day.

I reckon there wasnt a positive post in the 1st 18hrs of the day.

You all have a forums right to moan and give your views and opinions,

but with Muzzy, Blue tinted, myselfcwith others, have as much right to moan at the moaners,

not because their analyse is off the mark, but one trys to balance out days like yesterday.

Even after making history with 3 CL wins under our belt, it was like listening to the Song

"Gloomy Sunday" fom Billie holiday.

Wheres that FEARLESS humour gone, the great Leicester Sarcastic wit

that denies and hides that miserable feeling.

last year when winning we used to sing 'We are staying up' or Boring Boring Leicester.

Lets turn ut on its head have a laugh, spit against the wind,

we all know it not jelling at the moment....

This is Leicester city ffs do we really  "know what we are" or are we losing track.

A swallow (pl title) doesnt make a summer (future dream team).

AND yes I do hope we use last season to improve our credits, but heyho I'll roll with the dice.

No I wouldnt accept relegation, but the dips and any highs still need to be played out.

Its just if we carry on moaning even before team is selected or game kick-offs,we end up

with a forum of misery and spite, and a future of gloom Sundays.

I suppose it is the old story of optimists against pessimists scenario...:trumpet: With a bit of  plus

I think you're bonkers and mad as a box of frogs mate lol - but I do admire your 'glass half full' approach to life

Your last sentence sums it up really - some people are just happy being unhappy in life I guess, and probably take their frustrations out on FT.

I'm guilty too of 'moaning at the moaners' but maybe it's because I'm still on cloud nine from last season and will probably never come off lol

It's a wonderful time to be a Leicester fan. We've never had it so good and probably never will again - that's why I'm determined to enjoy every minute of it.

If I think people are losing perspective or getting caught up in the moment then yeah, I'll call it out. The same as I've been called out for having a go at what I see as unnecessary or over the top criticism of the team, performances or CR. Especially even after we've won - some people are just never satisfied maybe.

But it's all interweb bollux and not real life anyway so none of it really matters :D

I'd love to know when pointing out we didn't actually play very well became a "moan".

I've never been one to use the phrase, but today has been some of the most happy clapper bullshit I've ever seen on here. And that's coming from me, and I think over the years I've been one of the most positive and willing to give people time and the benefit of doubt on here.

If you don't play very well, you don't. End of story, pointing that out isn't moaning or "losing perspective". People calling for managers / players heads etc, fair enough... but not pointing out launching the ball 50 ft every time is shit to watch and not good football.

This is a football forum, where we should be allowed to discuss football. It is entirely possible to be happy with the result, but to point out what we think went right/wrong tactically, and what could be improved upon for the next game. That's the point of the forum really, to actually hold a discussion, not pat each others backs while we sit in a circle and jerk each other off about how great and infallible our team is.

It's particularly annoying that if you post any constructive criticism of the team when we win, then it's rebuffed with "omgz guys just enjoy the win", yet do the same thing when we lose and it's "omgz u r kneejerk!!!". Really, what you're saying is that people should only ever say nice things about the players, and send them flowers, wine and chocolate to boost their confidence.

Yes, I'm sure we're all aware that we're going through a great period in our history. However, if the only thing we're allowed to post is "YAAAY Leicester won, big claps", or "Aww, Leicester lost, better luck next time boys", then we may as well close up shop.

Yuck...what an awful thread!

I'll start off by saying that I'm an optimist and normally reluctant to criticise the team too harshly but recent games have really pissed me off.

Fair enough to say we should be enjoying the moment of being defending PL champions and playing in Europe.  Of course this is arguably the best period ever in LCFC history plus the atmosphere at the KP is now nationally renowned so yes there is a lot to be cheerful about.

However in reality it's not like we have Chelsea / Man Utd expectations and are calling for the manager's head if we drop out the top 6. Nobody was expecting us to be challenging this season. But in reality regardless of what happened last season, this season the football has been piss poor, horrible to watch and largely uneffective, and people are justified to question about the manager's tactics and to be concerned that through our recent recruitment we are losing what could be a great chance to establish ourselves as a decent PL outfit over the next few years.

If we can't be happy clappy sitting top of Group G with 3 wins from 3 then when can we?

No-one's being happy clappy about yesterday's performance in isolation, because we all accept it was poor by our standards.

Fine, we played crap so criticize away and fill your boots if it makes you feel better.

Obviously the post match thread is not the place to talk about perspective or the bigger picture I guess.

Fair post. Food for thought...

Look...it's simple! Even for me!

We won, are top of the group and have 9 points. Who in their wildest dreams would have thought this would be the case two seasons ago when, not far off this time, we were rooted to the base of the Premiership and couldn't score and couldn't defend. So a massive cheer for that!

BUT....how we are playing at present, I think, is not only about last nights game.

Sure, we can talk about what we did well last night, and what we did poorly last night. For me, the performance epitomised a bigger worry that has prevailed, especially away from home, in the league.

We are just not playing at all well. I tried to explain last night that Copenhagen are NOT a good side, relatively speaking. Babs pointed out who they've had their 'not losing' run against. No offence, but Porto away aside, these are not good teams. The Danish league I'd pitch at probably Championship level at best, with some League one standard teams thrown in.

So....yes, get excited at achieving this amazing feat...top of our group! But also see it for what it is, in respect of who is in our group AND how we are performing in general, which, relative to last season is miles off.

I will feel much happier with the team if we now go and play Palace off the park on Saturday. Relatively speaking, Palace are better than FcCopenhagen. It's time to get back to producing some quick and dangerous football that became our trademark. And winning well.

As a fellow Happy Clapper, I think it's only right that we pat each other on the back, sit in a circle with the other freaks, and jerk each other off about how great and infallible our team is :scarf:

P.S. Have you sent the players flowers, wine and chocolates to boost their confidence? It's your turn this week remember lol
