Merging Cultures Posted 20 January 2017 Posted 20 January 2017 Be honest Bryn - you're hoping for a sniper.I was shouting "fall down the stairs" at the TV.
Merging Cultures Posted 20 January 2017 Posted 20 January 2017 This announcer guy is rubbish! "The choir practices two blocks from my house. So easy to find them. Here's Schummer."Wtf?!
Carl the Llama Posted 20 January 2017 Posted 20 January 2017 I love how America doesn't even pretend to have separated Church and State.

leicsmac Posted 20 January 2017 Posted 20 January 2017 Just now, Bryn said: Â They don't, it's a Christian state. It's funny, the UK was founded as a Christian nation yet if you meet a proper Bible-thumper people will look at them in a funny way, whereas the US was constitutionally founded to be a secular state yet the fundies get so much power there.
Guest MattP Posted 20 January 2017 Posted 20 January 2017 When the announced the vice-president and the camera focused on the black guy I thought we could be in for a Blazing Saddles moment.

Webbo Posted 20 January 2017 Posted 20 January 2017 Â America was founded by non conformists so although they are more religious than us there isn't an official church in America like we have the CoE here.

I didn't realise the constitution said that. Â Just assumed they were from all the things we know about the institutions, in God we trust etc
Merging Cultures Posted 20 January 2017 Posted 20 January 2017 Thumbs up from the podium? Ffs he has no class.

The God stuff tends to date from the 50's when they were all scared of the communist heathens, so they started putting it on money to say "hey, we're not like them!"
Carl the Llama Posted 20 January 2017 Posted 20 January 2017 As if it started raining the second Trump finished signing in
Nick Posted 20 January 2017 Posted 20 January 2017 Nothing like a billionaire who's in it for the little people and voiceless folk.
Guest MattP Posted 20 January 2017 Posted 20 January 2017 Certainly a different speech so far, I genuinely think he means this about transferring power from the establishment to the people.  How the **** you try to do that and go about achieving it I have no idea, it's going to be interesting watching it though.Â
Darkon84 Posted 20 January 2017 Posted 20 January 2017 Not too keen on the speech so far. He's just been sworn in, not trying to win votes in a working class city ffs. Hope he means it though.

Merging Cultures Posted 20 January 2017 Posted 20 January 2017 This is an awful speech. He definitely wrote it himself. So much nationalist rhetoric.
