Yeah lets not act like Gerrard would turn down the opportunity to manage Valencia.

Why? I'm sure plenty would. Mental to take your first job in a country where you don't speak the language.

TBH I'm not sure he speaks English too well.

It's pretty obvious his first job should be Tranmere, Marine or Skelmersdale so he has a head start with the local lingo haha

Valencia's chairman wouldn't need to get to the end of his sentence before most would accept his offer.

You can't let that one go can you?

lol

Neville made himself look a berk and to be fair so did you by dig a deepening hole.

I'd like to think Gerrard probably has more sense.

It wasnt only about joining a big club far too soon with no experience of being the number one, it was also about going to manage Valencia which, for years, has been a poisoned chalice.

So you think that Gerrard would turn it down, if he were to be offered it? lol

Tell me, who was the last 'big name' footballer to retire then start a managerial career at a small club and eventually end up in a top, top job?

It doesn't happen.

Frank Lampard who has more England goals in less caps, more goals, more Prem appearances, more league titles and cups and the same number of champs league medals as Gerard? Yeah, hilarious.

Imagine a Koumas/Gerrard partnership, Finners. What a central pairing. Its a shame that fate, circumstance and the huge gulf in their level of ability, conspired against such a union!

Yeah when they played together for Liverpool's youth team they dominated and it was commonly understood that Koumas had bags more natural talent.

(This post isn't even a joke btw.)

I don't have time right now to discuss it, but Gerrard was a far superior player to Lampard. League titles and cups are almost irrelevant

anyway, it's a team game.

That's told me! Genuinely had no idea!

Maybe we must see them in the Liverpool Masters team then, one day.

Pretty much a load of rubbish.

The only difference between Lampard and Gerard is that when Lampard routinely saved and won Chelsea games with 90th minute goals, they were unspectacular pass-shots from 16 yards instead of some shoeing from 35.

But goals are goals.

He will do a year or two on the backroom stall at Melville and get his badges before taking his first step in management I guess.   Interesting to see whether Klopp sees his as a first team coach or reserve / academy.

Koumas is the Gavin Henson of football. Ridiculously good at his sport, absolutely terrible at being a sportsperson.

I almost don't want to know, but how many goals did Lampard score against us in how many appearances?

He almost seemed apologetic to knock us out of the cup one year, but it was one of those 20 yard driven efforts, after arriving late and unmarked on the scene, that he just routinely couldn't help but put away. Sure he scored twice in the game. (2007? 2008?)

Brilliant footballer. Very fashionable to put him down.

It was only a few days ago when he said he had something lined up either on or off the pitch. Now doubt it's on as he didn't wish to join the Chinese League or go to Serie A where AC Milan were linked with him.

Quite adamant now he'll return to Anfield for a certain period.
