Flags at back of Kop

Forget the flags for a second, it seemed that we were a tad lethargic in the stands altogether as we seemed to be out-sung by 1900 Belgians. That was the real disappointment for me as it all started so well and we should have been in party mode. Sometimes the players on the pitch being nervous gets smoothed over but what happens in the stands but today we seemed to add to the anxiety in the second half.

I don't think the clapper display helps, it was similar against West Brom in that it was weird with it being pretty much silent when the teams came out.

I heard the Belgians once. When they did a crazy jumping / dance thing. Barely heard them when they scored the.

however I am right at the front of sk1 and I felt the kop was fairly loud at times but never at a sustained period.

Loved the flags some really imaganative designs celebrating the clubs history and the the clubs present.

Considering there must be at least 20 stadiums around the UK and Europe with a very similar/identical design to ours they helped give our ground identity and character.

Is there anyone who can talk to someone at the club about this, it looked very bare last night up there... such a shame as they were fantastic ..

The flags not going back up isn't down to a lack of effort by the fans/Union FS to get the 'problem' resolved, I'll say that.

As someone who works with it all day long and stands at the back, i'll tell you it's not, it's not even proper polycarbonate, it's the cheap shit you lob on top of a carport the sort of shit that got smashed by a few golf ball sized hail stones a few years back, yes it's reasonably tough but it wouldn't take much weight for you to go through it and as I have pointed it out it has been drilled every few inches to rivet it and join it, drilling a few holes for flags will make next to no difference compared to how many holes it has for fixing purposes, it's just the club playing silly buggers again and not talking to each other.

In other news, what's the latest @The soup nazi any chance of them going back up before boro?

jesus really?!  i would have thought they could invest in a bit of PC sheeting. would mean when you smack it though it wont vibrate and make noise

Dear xxxozxxx

The flags have been taken down due to them being drilled into the structure of the stadium, damaging this in the process.

The club are currently looking into a more suitable solution before the flags can go back up.

Well, to be fair to them, is that IS there answer, why wouldn't they cut and paste it? It'd be a waste of time to reword it any other way considering the number of e-mails they might be getting. Also, any discrepancy in e-mail response would be picked up by people on here and we'd end up accusing them of inconsistent etc...
