foxy boxing Posted 19 December 2016 Posted 19 December 2016 good player but we need other priorities right now and where exactly would he play
RoyFox Posted 19 December 2016 Posted 19 December 2016 He's not coming, would be a great fit but there's no chance he'd leave Swansea in the lurch, unless a top 6 side came calling. Sad, but let's not kid ourselves.

Sad, but let's not kid ourselves. Spot on, he won't come here. He'll get a better offer, surely. All those saying 'where would he fit in'! up until Claudio started playing Vardy and Slimani we played 4-4-1-1, with Shinji in the second striker/no.10 role. Effectively too! Gylfi would be an up grade to Shinji. We need this position strengthening, as Shinji can't seem to stay on his feet, or score enough. You'd have to rotate Slimani and Vardy, which is no bad thing.
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 19 December 2016 Posted 19 December 2016 In all honesty, I wouldn't be surprised if we look at 2 centre mids as I could see us playing a 4-3-3. We would need an attacking right back but with Fuchs impressive going forward, I think it's time for change now. I personally would have a team like this. Kasper New right back Morgan Huth Fuchs Ndidi Drinky sigurdsson Mahrez Slim Vardy Ndidi sits in front of the defence & covers in when the full backs bomb forward. Drinky has the freedom to ping the balls wherever he wants & sigurdsson available to pull the strings. We aren't going to replace Kante who made up for 2 players. I think we need to forget this 4-4-2 now & look at a team like Spurs & slowly progress! We're stuck in the past with no plan b.

I'm sorry but to be able to play the expansive football Spurs play, both centre backs have to be comfortable on the ball and have good distribution of the ball.

Promising formation, hope it continues. But there's no chance Sigurdsson would come anyway. He wouldn't leave Swansea in the lurch unless a top 8 side came calling IMO. With Ndidi coming in, we'll get either a box-box creative CM or an attacking CAM like Sigurdsson.

A 4-3-1-2 in the future: Kasper Albrighton Morgan Huth Fuchs Amartey Drinkwater Ndidi Mahrez Simani Vardy That would be very nice.

I honestly think Albrighton would be a beast of a right back, all his attributes point to him being pretty much a right sided Fuchs

Could work but would be concerned with lack of width. This also means no Gray who has looked lethal recently. The full backs could potentially bomb on although that didn't work so well last season! Im sure Ranieri tried something like this in the last game and it looked good until Vardy went off so worth a try. Mahrez behind the front two or as a number 10 is an interesting one. We've tried it before and on paper he should excel at it! Silky touch, brilliant vision, great at holding the ball up given his size and a great finisher. But it never really works out like that. Or at least not yet! I could see him going up a gear like Gareth Bale did at Spurs if it worked though!

Guest Chocolate Teapot Posted 21 December 2016 Posted 21 December 2016 We won't sign him unfortunately - we're after a CAM but not him.
Nick Posted 21 December 2016 Posted 21 December 2016 We certainly won't sign him as we haven't even been linked to him in this window!

sylofox Posted 22 December 2016 Posted 22 December 2016 As much as i would love this do we have any form of link? The dream is great but about as likely as Messi. It's a fan want not the club unless I missed a trick?
