cityfanlee23 Posted 18 December 2016 Posted 18 December 2016 It's happening, been calling for this for long enough. http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/744742/Swansea-Exclusive-Gylfi-Sigurdsson-set-January-exit-Inter-Roma-keen-deal-News-Gossip "Sigurdsson only signed a new four year contract with the Premier League strugglers in January after an impressive showing in the European Championship Finals. The Swans had to fend off interest from Premier League Champions Leicester as well as Everton for the £25million rated star before he penned a new deal." We were linked in may, cannot believe we did not whack a 25m in for him.
sylofox Posted 18 December 2016 Posted 18 December 2016 Well gotta be a safe bet after all he can time travel. Signed a deal in January after his summer showing in the euro's. We not him to pop to February and see who we sign. Then to may so we can all lump on the CL final.
AmarteyAndChill Posted 18 December 2016 Posted 18 December 2016 Why would he join us over an Everton or another mid table side? If we're struggling then there's not a chance he would come here.

It's imperative we put a strong run together between now and the end of january, which looks unlikely looking at our fixtures, I guess we can only really hope for gylfi to stay in January to "Help the fight" at swansea, then have a very strong 2nd half of the season and finish top half to snap him up. One can only dream, this poor start really could do massive damage to us in the long run, we really needed to carry on the momentum to build upon it, it's easier to replace players with better ones when you're winning games.
Sharpe's Fox Posted 18 December 2016 Posted 18 December 2016 They'll be about 12 teams just in this country in for him if he becomes available and I doubt we'd be favourites.
Benguin Posted 18 December 2016 Posted 18 December 2016 great player indeed but not what we need right now

Guest CityFan 06 Posted 18 December 2016 Posted 18 December 2016 Quality player, technically superb. He'd be a real coup if we can get him.

We're clearly not deviating from 4-4-2 and he's not the answer in a midfield 2. It'd be like putting De Bruyne in a 2, still be good but you'd not be getting the best out of him.

desertfox2 Posted 18 December 2016 Posted 18 December 2016 He won't want a repeat of what happened at Spurs so it's not impossible he would consider us if offered 1st team but we need to be well away from the relegation zone to stand a chance

Albeit for only a minimum of 2 games. Spurs can't offer that
Tuna Posted 18 December 2016 Posted 18 December 2016 A tenuous link in a newspaper article alongside 3 other clubs and 'it's happening'. ridiculous over exaggeration.

You are looking from 7th-11th have a chance of getting him.

Exactly and he won't want to have a repeat of what happened at Spurs being on the bench. We need some wins sharpish to get near 7-11th
LCFC hub Posted 18 December 2016 Posted 18 December 2016 He'd fill the Okazaki role. He's played as a false nine for Swansea so capable of that, and therefore won't need to deviate away from Ranieri's preferred 442. He's definitely the type of player that would fit in. Great dead ball specialist too
SheppyFox Posted 18 December 2016 Posted 18 December 2016 Id love him here, can't see it happening we shouldn't have ****ed around in the summer, with him and others we targeted.

Ric Flair Posted 18 December 2016 Posted 18 December 2016 He'd have more chance of getting in at Everton than with us. We play 4-4-2 which makes him redundant.
