I must be getting old as I would have said free portion of butter to have with your fruited scone at the artisan coffee shop

HighPeakFox Posted 26 January 2017 Posted 26 January 2017 I know nothing of Rudkin. But the bashing of him regardless is pretty tired now. There's legitimate criticism, which is right & proper, and then there's just Trumping left right & centre. Which is what tends to go on here most of the time.

I assume it's just meant as a laugh A couple on here have some history with him though
foxy boxing Posted 26 January 2017 Posted 26 January 2017 young, promising defender but who knows how good he will be in the toughest league in the world where he will not get much time on the ball. at least it would beef up the numbers in defense if we got him.we need defenders who know the game, can adapt, and go straight into the first team and do a job straightaway

What you're looking for my good man is a sense of humour
foxes21 Posted 26 January 2017 Posted 26 January 2017 I miss Steve Walsh. Should have been given Rudkin's job.

Some of the players he's brought in at Everton would have been ideal for us. Gueye, Schneiderlin, Williams, Lookman. Don't know for sure if he would have brought in those players if he was still here, mind you.

VLC86 Posted 26 January 2017 Posted 26 January 2017 I have genuinely heard from someone with very close contacts to lots of people at the club that he isn't well liked. Obviously doesn't mean he is poor at his job but that's what I have heard.

He's just managed to get his tongue well and truly wedged up the senior brass at Leicester's ring piece. The Thai's love him.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 26 January 2017 Posted 26 January 2017 IT'S A DEFENDER AN ACTUAL DEFENDER! GEEERRRRIIIIMMMMMMIIIIIIIINNNNNNNN
TJB-fox Posted 26 January 2017 Posted 26 January 2017 As much as I love Simpson and do rate him as being one of the best fullbacks in the league defensively, it's time we modernised. We have to upgrade him and Fuchs too I think (I would genuinely now play Chilwell as our first team left back.) They were superb last year in the system we played, this year it ain't working. We need to make a permanent switch to a more attacking, possession based style but as mentioned for this to work you HAVE to have fullbacks that will get beyond the winger and are comfortable on the ball. This, for me, was really highlighted on Sunday v saints. Both their fullbacks regularly put decent crosses in, got beyond Tadic and Redmond etc and helped keep possession well. Ours were rooted to the halfway line, were absolutely abysmal on the ball and were generally shit. Someone like Conti is needed to help change the style of play, but doesn't he support Juve and has said he wants to go there or something? May be mistaken.
