The 22-year-old has already attracted attention from Napoli for next season. According to Tuttomercatoweb, Claudio Ranieri was eager to reinforce his defence with the young Italy Under-21 international. However, Atalanta turned down the proposal worth €7m, as they are eager to keep their squad relatively intact for the rest of the campaign. Conti is another product of the hugely successful Atalanta youth academy. This season he contributed two goals and three assists in 20 competitive games for the Orobici.

He wasn't well thought of in Italy. In fact most of my Inter supporting friends ripped me to pieces when we paid that money for him.
