Voll Blau Posted 1 February 2017 Posted 1 February 2017 Easier said than done at a time when the crowd aren't bothered if the team don't come out the traps in the first 10 minutes. Thought Burnley's home support sounded excellent on my stream last night. They even had voices to help them instead of using bits of cardboard.
Monsell1976 Posted 1 February 2017 Posted 1 February 2017 Burnley are as shite as us, sorry forgot they beat us last night, but have got 28 of their 29 points at home, we definitely need to make the kp a fortress, it's our only hope of survival. The problem is, I cannot see where we change the mentality at the club, manager and players, and the fans.
sk3since03 Posted 1 February 2017 Posted 1 February 2017 Hard to get behind a team that doesn't seem bothered
AyewJoking Posted 1 February 2017 Posted 1 February 2017 but if its a fortress no one will be able to get in to watch.................ohi see what you're doing
crazyleicester Posted 1 February 2017 Posted 1 February 2017 What happened to last seasons fans enthusiasm? Its easy to blame Claudio (about 20 threads in here in last two weeks) but the fans need to stand up. Last season we would applaud our team on when we conceded and were deafening at times. The place was literally rocking. In recent weeks our fans have been quiet. Have we become the typical sing when your winning style club who has come off of winning something and think they now are entitled to win again and not bother if we dont? I never thought we would get to that stage but then again I didnt think we would win the league either but we have gone soft. Burnley are doing it at home and are worse away from home than us this season which tells a story. Time for everyone to stop whinging and expecting things to happen and start cheering on there players in the hope they get a reaction.

I know I will be lambasted for this, but the players and managers need to feel the crowd will not tolerate these results or performances. They are praised by Claudio for appalling performances and results, clapped off after not performing by the crowd, must be great to be a city player, play without any sort of backlash, no wonder complacency has set in. Back them loud when they are putting it in, win, lose or draw, but they need a kick the arse, as the nicely, nicely approach by the management and fans isn't working.
adejo92 Posted 1 February 2017 Posted 1 February 2017 I think the numerous "Get behind them" topics have run their course. Every week the supporters pay good money and get behind the team and for what? Effortless, clueless and pathetic performance. I think its time for the players to give the fans something to cheer about. P.S I haven't forgotten about last season.

I'm sorry, but that's just not going to work. I posted this a couple of weeks back on the same subject... It's all pretty clear to me. Folks can moan about players being overpaid, not arsed etc till the cows come home, but they're still going to respond when supporters give it their all. Think about it. We're all stoney silenced, moaning at misplaced passes and booing substitutions or when we're one down at half time or whatever. They're gonna think 'so fvcking what, I'm still away to my mansion in my sports car to plough my supermodel missus after the game.' But if we're giving it our all every game, regardless of how they're doing, they're gonna think 'fvck me, better up my game here - these are fans worth playing for'. Be supporters worth fighting for and they'll respond in kind. So many took delight in claiming credit for getting us over the line and sucking goals into the net last season and during the Great Escape - time to truly earn that reputation.

I was there and the home end was like a morgue until they scored. But yes, i agree, these pathetic cardboard clappers need to be burnt.
Guest Foxin_mad Posted 1 February 2017 Posted 1 February 2017 I guarantee if City come out on Sunday and press/challenge and attack Man Utd giving 100%, getting stuck in the fans will get right behind them. The problem is the turgid hoofball we are playing under Ranieri. We will come out, try to protect a 0-0 get pinned further and further back by United until our creaking defence finally cracks and concedes! Once we kick off we do the same again until its 4-0 then he will make some strange subs, maybe bring on a defender and we will be even worse!!. If the team go our give 100% and get beat by a better team then fine but we are not seeing that!

Doesn't work for me, I start singing and giving some, and the crowd make a lot of noise, until the life is sucked out of the atmosphere, when they play like a shower of shite, as they don't respond Im sorry, I cannot make excuses for them, the improvement has to come from within the manager and players, all the noise in the world cannot lift these at the minute, but if they shows signs of life, the crowd comes back to life.
HybridFox Posted 1 February 2017 Posted 1 February 2017 Whenever we've taken the lead this year, we've won. The roar when we get an early lead especially, really rallies us. I've been pleased with our atmosphere in the beginning but then the team slowly disintegrates and it all becomes quite stale. I agree it has to come from those on the pitch though, and the players have to show that desire and commitment. In turn the fans will be on their side.

Those fans who boo and moan are better off handing back their season tickets and tickets if that's all they can do. Go and support a team like Man United if you want to see successful football regularly and boo players when they only get a draw. The fans need to support the team for 90+ minutes at every game, no matter what the score or how the game has gone. I understand it has been frustrating to watch at times this season. How would you feel at work if someone kept moaning at you and shouting you down, would you work better or would your motivation drop further? On the other hand, if your colleagues/boss were praising you and backing you even when making mistakes, would you be more motivated to set things right and make less mistakes? This is my view and I pay money for tickets to get behind the team with 30,000 other fans (or 3,000 away) and see my team give it their all. And when we have not been performing and confidence is low, get behind the team and show them they can count on us. All good being vocal and happy when things are going your way, any fan of any club can do that, but real fans will get behind their team in bad days as well. Think back to the first Premier League season, it was frustrating until April but we were still loud and proud. Let's get behind the team and get them out of this mess. A long shot but we could still end up near mid-table and have another trip to Wembley on the cards...

Often it's been a misplaced pass or lost ball that's come to nothing which leaves people mute or moaning. Boo after the final whistle if we've been shite by all means, but don't expect it to have any effect whatsoever on a bunch of multimillionaires. Go mad in support for the full 90 beforehand though, and it makes it much harder for them to justify their performances.
Max Power Posted 1 February 2017 Posted 1 February 2017 I'm gonna go the oppostite I think. Dusting off the old classic BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Every game we start well as a crowd, and this shower just suck the life out of the atmosphere, with hoof ball, no attacking threat, which gets the crowd going, and just looking all out uninterested and clueless, and you resign yourself to the fact, we ain't gonna score, when will the defence cave in, and the fans groan and give up

Again I'm not on about booing, but like I say I am not going to blow a lung, when the look so uninterested, and will not bust a gut for us, sorry I will not clap the majority I have seen this season. I don't think a chant of Claudio sort it out would go a miss, the atmosphere has gone sour, but unless things improve, it will become toxic
goose2010 Posted 1 February 2017 Posted 1 February 2017 To be honest its educatating people that go every week and think they understand football they are the issue. Too many 'fans' are too quick to boo or critise. I have an absolute pleb who is about 15 who just coulnt get his head round the fact kasper was aiming for Chilwell every goal kick. The fact that Chilwell won probably 85% of them headers still that didnt make sense to him. For everyone 1 person that understands the game and has played it there are 25-30 morons that think just because someone is on 100k a week should be able to score and have 100% pass completion. The amount of times i have turned to my mate and said actually thats a great idea shame it didnt come off whilst this lad is on his feet f'n and blinding just makes me want to give up going to be honest. There are too many people that are too quick to critise and demand we change too many 'modern football' fans these days. You just have to look at the state of some of the threads that are on here to relise that.
Soup Posted 1 February 2017 Posted 1 February 2017 Why is it when you go abroad and watch a pretty crap game with a pretty crap team there are thousands boucing and singing behind the goal all game. The whole ground isn't rocking but the amout of people just having a good time is phenomenal. Then you watch a game over here and it's so depressing sometimes. Probably has a lot to do with cheap tickets in certain country's but it's still pisses me off.

It's a different culture- you're not supposed to jump around and have a good time in England because it's a safety hazard. Hopefully safe standing will change the mentality.
murphy Posted 1 February 2017 Posted 1 February 2017 Making the KP a fortress won't be enough. We have 15 games left and need 6 wins. If, say 8 of them are at home, since we are getting shat on routinely away, then we need to win 6 out of 8.
Ric Flair Posted 1 February 2017 Posted 1 February 2017 Our home form isn't that bad, if it gets worse though then we are down without question.
oxtonfox Posted 1 February 2017 Posted 1 February 2017 Look football is a simple game. We need to play with a bit of fire and pride. At the moment there is no drive and the only fight is in defence and the keeper at the moment. In the Prem that is not enough, even at home. We have frequently gone behind this season and apart from Spurs and Stoke away we have lost every time. The whole team needs to play well from minute 1 and we have started games so slowly this season. Don't rely on the defence to bail us out for a 0-0, they are not that good and looking at current form we are bottom of the league and toothless. Need to start at HOME on Sunday. COYB
orangecity23 Posted 1 February 2017 Posted 1 February 2017 Need to make the KP an actual fortress, not a metaphorical one. Bang up a wall and portcullis round it, then collect three points from every home game once the away team "forfeits" by not turning up as we lock them out on Filbert Way.
