From Tinkerman to Blinkerman

Why can't Claudio see how bad Huth and Morgan are? How many times are they going to be exposed before he realizes? Don't they watch videos of the matches? Fuchs as well can get in the bin.

All well and good saying they need replacing but the alternatives are a 36 year old pole or a man who's played 2 games in the last 13 months. Recruitment has been a farce

That guy who's played two games in 18 months isn't going get more games unless he plays more games. It's getting to the point with Huth and Morgan that we just have to try something different.

Theres also the the option of Amartey. I know he's not played there for us, but again, its getting to the point of having to try something.

Did well at HT so fair play. I'm keeping faith for now

He does realise.

However, this tight-knit team is funnelled through their captain.

And their captain demands for good reasons to play with Huth.

Ranieri would need to dismantle the dynamics of the entire premier league winning team.

In one interview last season Morgan said that all communication between Ranieri and the team goes through him.

They socialise together. They have a WhatsApp group. They are a very tight knit team.

Morgan stood up to Ranieri last season and told him they would not change their style of play.

Morgan was vindicated for that. The players went through the best times of their professional lives because of that.

So now Ranieri has to say

"Alright Morgan? You remember that conversation we had last season, about you being right and me being wrong? Well, I've decided I'm right now, despite the fact we won last season listening to you.

So tell all your mates you're dropped and I'm trying out a centre back I've played in the under 23s and in a few FA cup games. It's not like you were the captain to a premier league winning team with great team spirit last season. Jog on."

Ranieri knows but we couldn't get Acerbi during the window. And summing up our current plight, Wague got injured on his debut.

Amartey at CB is worth a shout. Benny looked OK but where was the marking for Millwall's winner?

Not an easy problem to solve and in hindsight that £25m that Burnley wanted for Keane which we scoffed at would have been a great deal.

Its not just the defenders, although Huth is truly awful. Drinky, Musa, and Albrighton have all been terrible for the last few games but still got picked, and bar Drinky in the 2nd half, all looked rubbish. There has to be accountability for poor play, but regardless of what he says, there seems none with Ranieri. I'm hoping after this game there is. Musa shouldn't be near the team & Albrighton should only play if we are truly desperate.

Amartey? And Benalouane has performed well, so how can his claims be dismissed?

He's already done that.

Never played at CB for us as far as I recall - debut at right back, other than that at centre mid. As for Benalouane, let's not forget those games were against Millwall and Derby reserves. It was encouraging to see a defender not treat the ball like a grenade, but I wouldn't say he's made himself a solid pick.

Morgan is still the captain. Morgan and Huth are still the centre backs. All communication, I guess, still goes through Morgan. Ranieri needs to tackle all three problems.

If Amartey isn't better at CB than Rob Huth then he may as well retire. huth is a liability and it's making Morgan look even worse. At least Wes at least tries to block shots.
