MC Prussian Posted 18 April 2017 Posted 18 April 2017 Tonight's referee will be Claudio Ranieri in disguise.

Ian Nacho Posted 18 April 2017 Posted 18 April 2017 He was god awful, kept giving soft free kicks in favour of atletico when he could have just let the game carry on. Also the incident when he stopped the game when we were on the attack for an injured Atletico player was poor too.
Number 6 Posted 18 April 2017 Posted 18 April 2017 Ndidi brushed Atletico defender...foul. Ulloa used as stepladder...no foul. Some strange decisions but no big calls. Fell for the diving of Atletico players so much that I was shouting to Chilwell to throw himself over a bit. We were a bit too honest really. The stopping of play when they had a player down was an absolute shambles though.
ajthefox Posted 18 April 2017 Posted 18 April 2017 On the whole was decent imo. Gave away a few bad calls but thought he was pretty fair generally and called out a few Atletico dives.
justfoxes Posted 18 April 2017 Posted 18 April 2017 He was probably still pissed at us for sacking his compatriot Claudio!!

Just as we were in a good crossing position as well, who knows what could have come from it. However, does deserve an ounce of credit for the fact he did do the same when morgan was down for us, at least there's some consistency

Stopping the game for their injury seemed a bit soft given where the ball was and he gave a few free kicks for minor stuff but compared to the guys we see every week he was head and shoulders above.

The Quick Brown Fox Posted 19 April 2017 Posted 19 April 2017 Didn't think we could have any complaints, compare his performance to that last week. No bad feeling towards the ref from this game.
Thracian Posted 19 April 2017 Posted 19 April 2017 Couldn't fault the referee last night. . Just did his job and didn't make any mistakes that impacted on the result. But then the refereeing damage had already been done and I hope the bloke in Madrid can live with himself.

If we're fair, appart from the one big call where the referee had the mitigating circumstance of Drinkwater crossing his line of vision at precisely the wrong moment, the referee for the first leg also controlled the game efficiently.
