No man of the match today for me.

 

The team fought back and should have got that goddamned draw. Chilwell was good offensively. Albrighton a fighter and so generous in the effort. Ndidi was a bit off.

 

I hope Shinji will get the goal of the month award.

Albrighton MOTM for me.  7 for performance, but +2 for trying to lay out Fernandinho just before he got subbed.

 

Inspiring how he puts his body on the line for the club.  Felt he led the second half rally by example of sheer guts.

I missed the first ten minutes so I won't give any ratings but here's a few things I noticed. 

 

Kasper - Couldn't do anything about the goals he conced and good on him for giving Madley an earful. He really is captain material and we must try and keep him.

 

Simmo - Honestly one of the few below par performances I can remember him having this season.

Benny - Before Benny conceded the penny he put in something like four good challenges inside the box, but that last one was suicidal.

Fuchs - Did well considering he was played out of position.

Chilwell - Exciting going forward and solid defensively. 

 

Mahrez - I was screaming for him not to take the penalty, I had a bad feeling about it. Otherwise he was lively. He'll be missed next season, but we'll move on. 

King - Good, solid performance.

Ndidi - Same as Simmo. 

Albrighton - What a battler, glad he got some revenge. 

 

Okazaki - Outstanding goal.

Vardy - He was very isolated, but did okay.

Old cliche but it was a game of 2 halfs spoiled by the Officials, really hope that they bring in 'Video Refs'

Vardy 6 No service. Looked very frustrated at times and rightly so. Watching the long ball to him all the time is boring.

Referee 4 - Don't like or rate Madley at all.

Manchester City 6 - Play some great football at times. Don't like their younger fans though, wouldn't even be there without the money they have.

Kasper 7 Some decent saves and (unfortunately) showed Pep Guardiola that he can play a bit, too 

 

Simpson 6 Sane is top class so Simpson did ok considering 

 

Benalouane 5 Ridiculous challenge and his distribution again was awful. Poor game from him 

 

Fuchs 6 Thought he did ok 

 

Chilwell 7 So good in the air and had a good second half 

 

Mahrez 7 Played a part in the goal and had a pretty good second half. Criticism of him is embarrassing. He's a game changer. Pep recognises it and he's one of the world's best coaches. So lucky to see Mahrez play for us in my opinion. Not at last season's levels no doubt , but who is? Yet he's the only one criticised

 

Ndidi 7 Agree with above poster. First half wasteful in possession, second half pretty good

 

King 5 Usual King performance. Safe and steady, no more 

 

Albrighton 8 MOTM Lovely cross for the goal. Puts his body on the line. I thought Fernandinho should have been sent off 

 

Okazaki 6 Brilliant goal, good workrate 

 

Vardy 6 Not really in the game

Schmeichel - 7  As good as ever.  Mr Reliable.  We'd be lost without him.

Simpson - 6  Not one of his better games.

Benaloune - 6  Generally looks cool, but does get caught out a lot.

Fuchs - 6  He's no Centre Back !

Chilwell - 7  He gets caught out a lot in defence, but great attacking player.  Would make a fantastic wing back - if we ever play that system

Mahrez - 7  When he turns it on, he can be wonderful.  We're going to miss his magic.

King - 5  As anonymous as ever.  Trouble is, we don't want anonymous any more - we're not in the Championship now !

Ndidi - 8  Joint MotM.  Controlled the game in the Second Half.

Albrighton - 8  Joint MotM.  Puts in 100% all the time.  It's been a long time since we've had such a player - committed to the cause every match - even if it doesn't come off sometimes.

Okazaki - 7  We look so much better as a team when he plays.  Individually not great (except for the occasional goal - and what a goal today !), but a real team man.

Vardy - 7  Works his socks off.  So much more than a (lone) striker.  Like Schmeichel, we'd be lost without him - and not just for his goals.

 

Slimani - 6  Does give us different options up front - and works hard.

Amartey - 7  SO much better than King.  I'd like to see him given a go in Central Defence, but it doesn't look like anyone at the club agrees (how come he's in the African Nations Team of the Tournament as a Centre Back, yet never plays there for us ?!).  A good Central Midfielder though - and should play the last 2 matches instead of King (in fact should have played the last 2 months instead of Drinky !).

Gray - 6  In the short time he was on, he did contribute.

Mahrez was superb in the second half.

 

We kept giving him the ball and he kept on rinsing Clichy.

 

I desperately hope we don't sell him to another English club because he's going to be sensational in a side that keeps possession.

Schmeichel 8 (Best performance on the squad, can't blame him for the first goal since his sight was blocked by sterling and we can't expect him to save penalties every game)

 

Simpson 5 (didn't see too much of him that impressed me)

Benalouane 6 (was okay for the most part, cant blame him for the penalty since he didn't get support from the rest of the defense)

Fuchs 6 (wasn't perfect but can't be mad, he's not a CB)

Chilwell 5 (made a few mistakes which could have led to goals)

 

Mahrez 7 (created a good chance which led to a goal, and won a penalty. The slip was unfortunate, could happen to anyone)

Ndidi 6 (had some good interceptions but also lost the ball a few times)

King 6 (A better performance than Drinky in the past few games, should be given more game time)

Albrighton 7 (Great assist.)

 

Okazaki 7 (Finally a goal in a spectacular fashion.)

Vardy 6 (had a really nice run on the left wing when Albright on was getting treated in the sidelines, with a great cross but no one was there to capitalize on it.)

 

Slimani 5 (nothing special, didn't mess up nor did anything impressive.)

Amartey 5 - had an okay showing but I would've much preferred seeing him as a CB instead of Fuchs

Gray N/A (didnt really pay attention to what he was doing)
