Pre-Season

Recommended Posts

We've been through this in another thread??

  • It'll be two games in pretty much the same location against English teams
  • There will be no trophy tour or three week excursion totalling about 4 million air miles
  • We have FOUR Football League friendlies lined up after we come back, not like last season's ridiculous schedule

This won't be a problem at all. It's definitely not last season and any arguments that this will see us have an equally unprepared team going into 2017-18 are rubbish.

Yeah, no issues with this. Would prefer it to be earlier in July rather than later but it's going to be nothing like that awful tournament taking us around the world last summer.

We've had training camps in Austria before so going to Hong Kong isn't much different, we'll just be having the odd game instead.

is that 8 games then?

Burton (Away),

Luton (Away),

Wolves(Away),

MK dons (Away),

Palace (Asia Cup),

Liverpool (Asia Cup),

West Brom (Asia Cup),

Rumoured 'high profile' match (Home). Dortmund?

Be a great active preseason, with the players ready to go for day 1 of the Prem. Was annoying hearing Claudio at the start of the season (for around 2 months), going 'they're not 100%'.

We will play two games in Hong Kong, not three. I think one on the Thursday and one on the Saturday.  I'm there on the Saturday - what planning !!

Austria is very different to Hong Kong mate.. I will give a list of differences if you have trouble sleeping.

They drive on the left

the traffic lights are familiar

All signs are in english

the boys will feel more at home there than in Austria (apart from Fuchs of course)

A fair few games there. I just hope we have a squad to cope and rotate around by the time we go.

And not relying on Morgan and Huth every game lol

That pre season schedule is still a hell of a lot better than last summer though
