st albans fox Posted 2 June 2017 Posted 2 June 2017 I think we earned 24 m more than Arsenal from the CL. Given their FA cup run, they will have earned more than us in non commercial revenue this season. We will likely be second. around 180/185 million
Sir Shep Posted 2 June 2017 Posted 2 June 2017 Stupid money really, should be more fairly distributed around all leagues including grass routes and women's, but hey, I'll imagine most will get blown making good but not outstanding footballers multi millionaires and their agents of greed. Rant over!

Rant over! At least it is fairly distributed around the premier league clubs unlike Spain where the top 4 get about 90% of the TV money.

Rant over! The balance might be better but that's free market forces for you and there's people at all levels who'd waste any money you gave them, the same as in life generally. The idea that people are equal or can somehow be made equal is a nonsense which has flaws, even as an theoretical ideal. Competition, challenge, incentive are characteristics that bring the best out of people. We're not made to be drones or to have our hands held. From the very start of our lives we have an instinct to compete.
Nalis Posted 3 June 2017 Posted 3 June 2017 Money aside, there is something fundamentally wrong when a team (Liverpool) only has nine 3pm kick offs in league season.

Rant over! Yep, basically all the money that is ultimately coming from the fans either through TV subscriptions or gate receipts goes to agents and paying the players more money than they could ever spend.
volpeazzurro Posted 3 June 2017 Posted 3 June 2017 Just my opinion, but if as an individual in normal life you have to pay yourself for drawing contracts up to buy a house or, legal representation or advice from a solicitor or barrister, is it not time that players themselves should have to pay their own agents? If the football powers that be made it an offence for any club to pay any third party or agent for their services, punishable if caught out by a huge fine and 20 points deduction, it would overnight increase hugely by default the loss of money going out of football. Clubs would not risk getting caught out and it would reduce those obscene sums of money earned by agents like Pogba's.
Guest LCFC_World Posted 3 June 2017 Posted 3 June 2017 Money has ruined football. I came so close to not renewing and have only done it in the last 10 minutes.
