Development of the side

Three year in the PL, and over 170 million spent with a net spend of 120 million, 8 highest in the in league in that time and we still have a side that can't keep the ball!

Yes are league team were the masters of counterattacking, and very successful, but we should be developing in to a more round team.

Dissapoint that after all that spend we are still depend on a long ball to Vardy and sticking 11 men behind the ball. On top of that we still have a aging backline.

I'm not saying we should be Barc or Real Madrid, but keep the ball can be a useful way of taking the heat out of the game!

Disolve the club.

Liverpool have spent nearly a billion pounds and haven't won a title. We have with a tenth of the cost. We are hands down the most entertaining (albeit damaging to the heart sometimes) team to support in England - enigmatic, unpredictable and when we're on song we genuinely can beat anyone. I would say we've done well to stick to our guns.

I still don't understand why we offloaded GTF...I presume that's what you meant anyway.

We've won the league based on a counter attacking system! That's more important than possession stats and probably why we don't want to adapt.

I think having 2 CB's that can't pass has been the main issue. It'll improve with Maguire and hopefully even more next year when Huth is replaced in the starting 11.

Like I said in the summer, Shakespeare has changed very little.

Style of play isn't good - kicking out to Fuchs is shit and not retaining the ball is annoying.

Midfield always worries me too. Arsenal players just drifting past central midfield. James did okay considering it was his first PL game in two years but he is easily beaten.

When David Wagner can come in to an "unfashionable" club and turn a bunch of players that have predominantly played in the football league their entire career into a side that plays possession based football and succeeding in doing so.. we may not have the players best suited to playing this way, and certainly we will always be outplayed if we were to play this way against the likes of Arsenal/Man City, but I am so tired of the way we do play. Always worse when we're in a rut and we never try to keep the ball. We can't be any less talented than they are and there have been certain occasions where we have passed the ball about quickly, i'm thinking that move at home to Liverpool in 2016 although I do get that was just 10 seconds of a 90 minute match. This summer was a chance to start things over with a new manager in my opinion, and thats not me saying Shakespeare out already but I do wish we had tried something different

We have centre backs that can't play in any other manner than extremely deeply, we've a signed another slow defender in Maguire so we'll continue to engage the opposition too passively.

If we signed more mobile defenders we could commit to pressing higher and avoid being penned in so often.

Its about have a debate, I not moaning about how we have done, but you have to keep developing as a club!

If we want to improve, it's a area we need to develop!

You can still play that way and be better on the ball, look at A Madrid, they are a counterattacking side, but can keep it when they need too!

We need better fallbacks, on the CB front the biggest mistake was not going in hard for M Keane last season!

We need defenders who are calm and comfortable on the ball. How many times have you seen Morgan collect the ball in acres of space and 3 seconds later he has  half the opposition bearing down on him forcing him to panic simply because his first touch is useless

Said pre-summer/towards the end of last season, we need better ball retention. We invite pressure onto ourselves by continually losing possession.

I find teams often tend to press us higher than others, and I wait for us to lose the ball. However, Iborra is a smart addition in this regard, calm and composed.

How do you develop from relegation favourites winning the league?

We couldn't keep the ball in 2015/16.

that was the point.

But in several games we managed to see out the last 10-15 mins comfortably. I remember even the raw Gray coming on and play triangles near the the oppo corner flag with Fuchs, Drinky and others. We don't seem to be able even to do that now.

So after winning the league we should have closed the club as that the pinnacle of LCFC?

By building on the foundation of winning the league and being in the CL, something we have failed at.

Well clearly we failed to build on the side that won the league but when something works do well why change that?

I can't believe Leicester fans out of everyone are moaning about possession lol.

We're two players off the perfect system

for a 3-4-1-2 and we'd be devastating with it. A left sided centre half to play in a back 3 with Huth and Maguire and someone like Hazard or Ziyech to play behind Vardy and Iheanacho with Ndidi and Drinkwater in the middle. Albrighton and Fuchs are perfect for wing backs or even Chilwell. We'd get more protection at the back and be able to control play more when we need it but still with pace and power up front.

Would like to see that. Will Drinky still be with us, though?

My worry is that if/drinky goes we will have no play maker to pick a pass.

Yes we need defensive mid player... i hope amarty could develop but we need it now.... is this iborra?

I am always banging on about it.... but besides team drills, we need trainers to work with each player to develop the skills habits strength and mind sets of the elite in the roles we target for them.

An hour a day..... and given what we pay them who would not do this?
