Unfortunately I will be going away next season.

I'm just done with it

Exactly what they want. They don't want the likes of you/me/us. The demographic they want is people who toe their line and won't complain.

Consultations generally are just a sop to satisfy regulations, decisions have already been made in the minds of those hiding behind them. They will have already worked out what they want and the costs involved and then employ subtle and not so subtle methods to ensure they get their way, even then if it doesn't they'll come up with a pre-determined scheme to ensure they get their way.

Councils are often the worse.

Good luck to them

Well there seems to be no shortage of those unfortunately!

I understand why people take the view that the survey and consultation is all irrelevant and the club will chose their own preferred route. And that is the case! The Safe Standing was always going to be a way of illustrating a working FAB and new fan consultation processes.

But you have to feed that consultation or survey to build up a big enough case of evidence. The way this club's fanbase is split, this is as much about narrative than anything else. If that safe standing survey got five figures and it was a farce of a system advised, there is a far bigger story what local media and other parties want to take part in. The battle between fans rights & clubs are as much about media use, narrative driving and being proactive rather than reactive. That's one of the few routes available to show up the club as not listening to its fans. But you need the evidence of proof etc. That's why they avoid or delay meeting minutes. It's why they consistently cited various reasons for not giving information.

There is simply too much apathy amongst the supporter base to really strike hard. Don't just angry, get doing something. It's worth noting Southampton got their safe standing because the supporters avalanched their club on it , they lobbied their FAB and push them hard on it. To a create enough noise - that the local media would have reported 'Saints ignore fans wishes' if didn't go ahead because they'd create such a load of momentum.

I can’t think of anything less likely to happen under the current regime. Safe standing probably terrifies the club.

There may be some pressure from the SGSA along with local authorities, but we really have relatively low amounts of standing in the home end.  The club maybe advised to install safe standing where those persistant standers are....it would be down to the club to then decide on what they will do.

As many of us have said the chances of the club rolling out large safe standing areas is highly unlikely.  There's a decent chance they will introduce it in those areas already has standers.

For me the only way any change in atmosphere could happen is it the whole south stand to be deisginated safe standing, but proper safe standing not just a barrier.  And also sell it as a place for singers to buy tickets.

This is normal in the rest of the world but rare in England, and the club has shown very little interest in improving the atmosphere in the way the fans want.

Just give the management 10 year to think about it.

Yeah not many will be surprised with the role out at our place.

The minutes from that sham of a meeting that Foxes Trust posted on here the other day didn't read well for anyone wanting extensive safe standing at the KP.

Let be honest if we do ever get it in here, it will be the cheapest option possible.

Yeah cheapest bars/seats and smallest area.

The golden chance to reconfigure the stadium has been passed by.

How they moving people out to let others in?  Could be interesting

This is the big question.

It’s utterly pointless if everyone remains separated. Why is this so hard for the club to understand?!!?!?

I would guess they do understand but they don’t want to get involved in a project that will subject them to confrontation from the blue army “I’ve sat here for 20 years” etc.

It’s a painful process, I’ve done it myself at Doncaster (had a season ticket thrown at me and was called “that tw@t from Lestah” by another 🤣) but if your aim is for the betterment of the atmosphere which can then help the players and management it’s a no brainer. We won’t have that aim.

Given it was discussed on a FCC to which they are recorded minutes, I think I am okay in saying it is going to be from the top of the rows working downwards. Basically what they did at Old Trafford - Alan Dawson used to be Man U and that's largely off his bat. Not sure how they dealt with relocations but it will follow a similar pattern.

Did it work well at united? Genuine question, I don’t know.
