I get 50 balls, smash them as hard as I can and then listen to classical music, chain smoke and drink a latte in the car park next to the beach. Its my little escape and always do it alone. Listening to classical music, reading a book and having a decent bottle on the table next to you in a dark room at night is one of the great pleasures in life.
Unabomber Posted 2 November 2017 Posted 2 November 2017 I read a lot and like trying different beers. I’m a keen jumper and like to see how high I can jump.

I managed to get a chase from Smyth's the other day which was a surprise. It's a cheap enough hobby so the missus doesn't give me any aggro

MPH Posted 2 November 2017 Posted 2 November 2017 Deer Hunting. I guess thats unusual as not many people get the chance to do it. The Hobby part for me is just being outside in the quiet. It can be days between even seeing a deer and its just so peaceful.. you can be the only person for miles and you obviously cant make a sound and its amazing how the trees and wildlife just come to life if they don't even know someone is there. I almost gave a squirrel a heart attack one time as it got to within a couple of feet from my arm before it realized i was there. I was in a tree stand. Sometimes people ask that if a tree falls in the middle of a forest and no one is around, does it still make a sound? I just feel like im cheating nature a bit by being there and none of the animals realize it.. so quiet... collect my thoughts... rebalance my equilibrium... Getting a deer is the bonus part.. the icing on the cake... hormone free, antibiotic free and organic with the only cost being my time...

I can sympathise to an extent, I used to have a crush on Meg White that nobody understood. But the thing is, nobody had to watch me masturbate thinking of an unconventional looking drummer in public. People have to actually see you wear those shoes. Have words, Nick.

Although I don't know Meg White, I would be prepared to watch you masturbate whilst concentrating on your unconventional looking drummer if this makes things a bit easier. I however will not be changing these olive beauties for love nor money - I'm actually thinking of getting another pair for when these start to wear out.

On an aside, I am a little surprised... We have a model train enthusiast, several men who collect plastic dolls and somebody who thinks they are at one with nature with a semi-on and a rifle and you find my Nike Air Max LD Zero's the topic of choice to take the piss out of!

Izzy Posted 2 November 2017 Posted 2 November 2017 I do Pilates twice a week. Not sure if that's really classed as a hobby but it's something I love doing and really see the benefits from. I can hold the 'plank' for over 5 minutes now which I'm pretty proud of. And I play golf quite a bit but that's not very unusual I guess...
Kalacs_Orthopedic_Shoe Posted 2 November 2017 Author Posted 2 November 2017 It is football related but I guess it's also quite unusual...(?) I collect football matches. I'm not as prolific as I used to be several years ago, but since I've been about 10 I had a real urge to save matches on video and then DVD and now hard drive. (first matches were the Euro 2000 semi finals) It's meant I've got pretty every WC and Euro finals match since 2004, UCL finals, Europa Finals, FA Cup finals etc. I even had a couple of seasons where I collected every UCL match, that is hard work. Also got the continental tournaments too, so AFC, Copa America, Gold Cup. I think I have about 2250 at last count. Recently I've focused my efforts on Leicester and the major international tournaments, as some people have seen with my posts on LCFC-related footage I have, so I won't drone on too much about that. It's probably really sad and such a nerd thing to do, but like most people it's a great little escape for me to just detach from the world and hark back.Reminds me a little of me recording MotD when I was a teenager. I had a crate of them under my bed. Was the days before the internet was widely available, so me mates use to all be at mine when it was raining and we'd be watching hours of old games. Guest Col city fan Posted 2 November 2017 Posted 2 November 2017 I collect antique pottery. Beswick animals, Clarice Cliffe, Royal Doulton character jugs. That type of thing. Its all beautifully presented in Glass display cabinets with all the lighting and whatavya. The rarer the better, of course, and my Beswick collection must be about 50 original pieces. The dogs being my favourite ones.

I haven't had any lessons yet but I can play along to a few simple songs. I'm kind of self taught from books and t'internet but I get frustrated when I can't do a decent fill. It's all about independence of movement, once each arm and leg can do different things without the brain having to think too much about it you've cracked it.
