Explosion at Manhattan bus terminal

New York City Police say they are responding to reports of an explosion at a bus terminal in Manhattan.

The incident reportedly happened on Monday morning at the Port Authority Bus Terminal near Times Square.

"The NYPD is responding to reports of an explosion of unknown origin at 42nd Street and 8th Ave, #Manhattan," tweeted the department.

"The A, C and E line are being evacuated at this time. Info is preliminary, more when available."

ABC News quotes police sources as saying that a possible pipe bomb was detonated in a passageway below ground at the terminal.

 

Port Authority is the largest bus terminal in the US, serving more than 65 million people a year.

Gonna start rating these attacks for the lulz. 

 

Sounds like a 2 person attack using bombs, one of which apparently went off early and the other one was caught before he could use it. One non-fatal injury. Both suspects detained. 

 

Literally get a -1/10. Pathetic. (may change rating as new information becomes available) 

 

Edit: sounds like the only person hurt was the guy with the bomb. Down to a very generous -2.

It's amazing in some respects that two people can try to bomb a major bus terminal in the centre of New York and no shots are fired.  Contrast this with all the other police shooting completely innocent unarmed guy stories we hear almost daily.  That shit cray.

Probably not a coincidence that NYC has some of the strictest gun control regulations in the country.
