Which midfield 2?

  1. 1. If we accept that 2 of Mahrez, Gray and Albrighton are playing which 2 players would you choose in central midfield?

    • Ndidi and Iborra
    • Ndidi and Silva
    • Ndidi and James
    • Iborra and Silva
    • Iborra and James
    • Silva and James
    • King with anyone
    • someone else (please state).

Potential wise N'didi and Silva look an interesting partnership. One destroyer and one who likes to get forward, Silva does look a little light weight and he's the sort of player who may go missing in a battle. Having said that he's not afraid to go in for tackles or get stuck in, it's just whether he'll physically get bossed a bit too easily in some games.

You want that cvnt wise in a 3?

Right now Ndidi and James, they've been faultless so far every time paired together so it's theirs to lose.

However, it's so good that we finally have decent competition in that area. James and Ndidi will know they have a Euro 2016 winner and former Sevilla captain waiting in the wings should their performances drop. Knowing they aren't immune to being dropped only improves performances.

On more important games, I would like to see Ndidi and Iborra.

On less important games, I would like to see James and Silva.

It's nice to see so many quality options in the midfield, which means everyone has more to prove.

To think not so long ago we'd have to play King and Amartey in the middle after winning the title....... lol

We'll get 5 injuries and he'll end up playing as a lone CM at some point, guaranteed.

On less important games, I would like to see James and Silva.

And on board games, I would like to see King and Choudary.

My mouth waters at the thought of a 3 man midfield N'didi holding just in front of the back four with Iborra and silva controlling the tempo, both seem incredibly confident with the ball at their feet and Silva looked really promising last night (albeit against Fleetwood)

Absolutely dribbled watching them pair together last night at times. With Ndidi's legs and protection we could be onto something really special there. Vardy and Gray stretching teams with Mahrez's magic drifting all over the gaff. Couple this with Chilwell and another marauding right back with technical ability and it could well be beautiful.

On this forum we may never see the last of King.

I actually prefer the idea of Iborra holding and dictating play with Wilf and Adrien will give you more mobility. Options though .

I agree, but it gives us the option of rotating the two, letting them go on little runs whilst the other fills in, gives us a certain fluidity in midfield.

(when I say little runs, I don't mean the runs Bamba used to go on :D )
