Which midfield duo?

Which midfield 2?

  1. 1. If we accept that 2 of Mahrez, Gray and Albrighton are playing which 2 players would you choose in central midfield?

From a position of weakness we seem to have a wealth of talent in the midfield. Mahrez with either Gray or Albrighton seem to be the wide men so who would you choose to play in between them?

I think Silva and Ndidi will be the ideal pair in the future. Iborra off the bench if we need to hold a lead or get a goal. He used to come off the bench and score quite often for Sevilla.

depends on the opponents. all the "first choice 4" have roles to play. silva was class tonight but think he'd easily get overrun by some midfields without ndidi alongside him. james was class at the weekend and iborra uses his experience really well. 

 

in most games it's ndidi and someone else, imo. silva for the weekend, possibly james or iborra when we go to everton and it'll be more physical with big sam's style of play, probably have 3 of them in their against man city to try and not get annihilated. etc.

I haven't voted yet as I honestly see great things from all 4. I'm trying to work out which 2 would enhance each other more.

Id have to watch them closely in training first ...   after the rain perhaps ..   when the grass is really muddy ...    ;)

From what I saw tonight, Iborra and Silva can't play together against better opposition as they're not great at covering ground and leave the defence exposed somewhat, N'didi has to start and in the coming weeks Silva will probably be alongside him.

Means we'd be playing Vardy upfront alone which really doesn't suit him - it's why he plays better when Okazaki is on the side as there's a link player dropping deep, occupying and creating space for him.
