Any city centre pubs recommended for a few pints while watching the results come in between 3 and 5 today?

There's some clinics in Switzerland that are probably better for listening to the football results coming in.

Maybe we will go in but it’s gone well downhill with the refurb in my eyes.

But you are going into the Fountain and Hansom Cab lol

Is Braunstone gate even a thing as a night out any more? Going back 20 years it was always a great alternative to a night in town, looks like a right s*** hole when I've been past now.

Can't say I miss the bouncers on Mobius door always being bell ends and insisting on certain gear.

No, Black Horse is the only place worth frequenting. The rest are low grade bars. Metal Monocle is good if you have a casual relationship with showering

9bar up the narb and black horse both decent.

Plus the monocle and potentially soar Point.

You have the castle and Nine Bar is really outstanding. Good rotation of beers, friendly staff and customers who wash. The last two are not representative of the Black Horse experience

Forgot the castle. Good little crawl there I suppose

I liked the Dortmunder on draft there.

Not seen it many places.

Brauny Gate has pretty much always been my preferred night spot, but it's always had its shit holes, lets be fair.

Loved O-Bar and I had this weird dream that it became a launderette themed bar for a while. Mobius was never any good.

Always thought the Music Cafe was a bit of a hidden spot - surprising to see it's still there given it never seemed that busy.

Natterjacks is crap. What was Loaf is now grim n'all as is the place next door.

Went earlier in the year. Didn't mind the Metal Monocle at all but then again I'm a proper greebo. Glad to see Nine is still there, shame Pi had to go.

Oasis Lounge was decent - had a good selection of bottled beers and cocktails.

Braunstone Gate was good even on a Sunday night. The Quay & Soarpoint in the afternoon and then round to O’bar was our usual route. Get a Mario’s for the way home.

The Quay closing in that location was a joke.

Should have been a banging place

Every good pub I drink in has closed down. Swan to the WEB before the footy.

I was thinking about the Quay the other day, I remember it being a pub but can’t recall what it was like. Was it chain operated, guessing so with the age of the building?

Severely lacked character sadly.

Absolutely was a great building for a pub but of course it became a Tesco
