Most would gladly pay a subscription to watch our games on Sky, BT or whatever. The broadcasters seem to miss the point of why people watch streams, not to avoid paying but to actually see their team play in the only country in the world it's not broadcasted in.

A TV season ticket for your team would be an amazing idea and immensely popular

At the moment I have Sky sports and BT sport as an add on. However the BT contract is up in April and I will be cancelling. I dont mind paying for Sky because I watch and enjoy their football offering, but I find BT commentary and general presentation poor, plus I don’t like having to pay more than one provider.

Going forward i will just have sky sports and any Leicester games on BT I will watch in the pub.

I haven’t paid for a TV game in 3 years and I watch what ever I want when ever I want , do I feel guilty ? Yes that I didn’t find it 5 years ago !

The greed of the premier league is startling , huge piles of cash and still charging disgraceful prices to watch a game in a stadium , Our owners have been fair and that’s good but the majority of other clubs the fans are being ripped off

the cost of merchandise , food , tickets and loyalty is shocking

Think a lot of people will do this BT is poor compared to SKY.

The downside to this it would widen the gap between the top 5/6 and the rest as they would command a higher season ticket fee and a greater number of sales.

The broadcasters would need to find something to fill their schedules to fill their schedules so probably would want to go down this root.

It may not bother some football fans but other sports (and other non-sports programmes) could well disappear off the schedules as I'm sure the current Sky/BT fees subsidies them.

That's not to say I'm against the idea but it would certainly change the face of football/sport on TV

the Major problem I think is the “competition ruling” that was brought in by stating no company could own all the packages

How is sky owning 4 packages and Bt owning 2 packages creating competition for the customers, it actually costs the customer more by allowing the companies to charge what they like and then the having to pay 2 companies instead of one to watch everything

geniune competition would be to allow both companies to have all packages and then the customer can choose what company to go with and prices would have have to be competitive

obviously one of the major flaws in this is that the Premier League wouldn’t make as much money for the TV rights

This sums it up perfectly for me.

But would probably cost more than a season ticket at the club !!

cant see why it couldn’t happen as cameras are at every PL game a season ticket for each club would probably be frowned against by each premier league side as it would highly impact on season ticket and non season ticket sales impacting on big sales losses, unless the clubs get a big slice of the season TV ticket revenue !?

The TV product needs passionate fans in the ground and a fair few games now the grounds don’t look full or have a crap atmosphere.

I think this will start to bite as atmospheres continue to worsen with more rich tourists fans and clubs struggling to fill grounds.

then hopefully the clubs/PL will realise that high gate revenue is not worth empty grounds that looks bad on TV

then hopefully real fans get back in by clubs selling fair prices tickets to real fans.

Smaller bids. Sky paid 16% less per game than the last time around. The deal could end up bigger though as they are auction off more games. That being said don't expect savings on your TV package.

Some of the cash should be used to subsidise ticket prices and travel for those affected by TV kick-off times, rather than the armchair viewer.

I am now,more a armchair Viewer....

andI agree.  It should Go to Help the Matchday supporters.

If my subscription for my Sports package goes Up,I will decide at sometime

to Pull the Plug. I Use to get, footy,Rugby, and Cricket,International and English

European ties. I dont get the Services or Sport anymore that I was told.

They are showing netball ,Low Golf, uninteresting  tennis,Yachting at Peak

Weekend Times....Now No CL,fa-cup,less english Cricket...No English rugby.

So If they Cut more top Games....tough!!!  Thats me finished with Sky.

Free View gives me,Highlights and the Odd international at footy, and

Rugby six nations. I aint paying high Fees  for Low Level Sport, and Just

Snippets of Football PL. No CL,No european Main rugby games.

No Ashes or english shortform cricket can any Longer be guarranteed.

I wouldnt always expect full Matches,or Games. But with pre-paid and normal TV

Not Covering english main-stream Sport, how are Kids and families ever going to

get Interested. Membership schemes and having Bronze/silver/gold Games, mean

Mr Joe Blogs,Joe average, have No possibility in even getting a Ticket,or a Walk in.

Nothing..zilch,nada is going Back,to the Fans....

Its worse than that.... bt and sky compete for the package and this means thebprice tgey pay is high... which they pass on to us.   As you say there is no market that forces sky and bt to compete for customers.... improving product andcreducing price.

A live streaming sesson ticket would favour the big clubs.... but it would generate alot of revenue forvthe providers snd for the pl.... it is also attractive fir dedicsted fans.  They need to pitch the price anf provide quslity to make it attractive to those streaming for free.
