The pl are re auctioning packages of games.... online providers are competting with bt and sky thus pushing the bidding higher.  This money will be distibuted to clubs who will waste it.  This year aside there is little evidence that the lashings of tv money have improved English teams to dominate the cl.

Yet the winners of these bids will have to recoup their spend... from us.  We already have to pay sky and bt.  How much more will we have to stump up next year.

If the pl is to keep kids connected they may even need to look at limiting the cost of pl tv.  I am already paying more to sky and bt than my season ticket.

Maybe kodi is the future... while there us no pay to view.

Get rid of your subscription.

I wonder if the bidders model the tolerance of fans to pay subscriptions?

I cant underdstand why besides their sports packages the pl dont look at a pay per view offer.... many might pay a few quid a game to watch each of their teams games but who will not spring for a subscription..especially gen y and mellenials on phones

Some of the cash should be used to subsidise ticket prices and travel for those affected by TV kick-off times, rather than the armchair viewer.

Isn't that the reason for the £30 limit on away tickets?

It did replace the Away Supporters' Initiative which I think was centrally funded by the PL, but there's still more that could be done to help match-going fans.

It looks to my untrained eye that the annual income for clubs cannot be expected to keep rising. Is it possible that these last two packages won’t raise enough for the 2019-2022 period to deliver as much to clubs as the current deal does.

There ate all the Asean deals to be totted up yet, plus other parts of the World.

Should be brought down to £20 now. Don't get me wrong, I'm pleased I now don't have to pay more than £30 for a PL away.

The cap should also be in every league. Clubs like Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday charge £40 for second tier football ffs.

Yep. I know Stoke offer free away travel, mind, but that's only one club.

And as I said above, the £30 cap should now be £20.

That’s true about Leeds but I know they do about 1 game every 3 or 4 for £15 for an adult and £5 for a junior. They have a lot of links with junior football clubs and put these offers on quite a bit. I really dislike Leeds Utd, and yes they do charge OTT for a lot of games but they do give kids (and parents) who might not get the chance to go that opportunity on a decent amount of games. That offer isn’t limited to 1 adult and 1 junior either, there’s a huge allocation for these tickets for the selected games.

All of the UK Sports channels can go and **** themselves. They are all shite.

I've never understood why it can be that NBC can show literally EVERY SINGLE GAME EVERY SINGLE WEEK for a BRITISH SPORT, in a BRITISH LEAGUE, to AMERICAN VIEWERS, but here, you know, in actual BRITAIN, nobody, NOBODY, shows all the games.

It's a scam. I'll never pay for any of the sports channels. Far to easy to pick up a decent stream these days.

i agree with the whole streaming thing, but the reason they dont show 3pm kickoffs is for the benefit of lower league football i believe

It is. I would kill certain non-league clubs I personally believe if. Particularly those in build-up cities or nearby cities.

There's no rise but given the continued use of Friday nights, Saturday nights and Monday nights - a percentage of the money should be secured for travel whether that be home or away fans.

The streaming services like Amazon were not interested in spending those huge figures on 'exclusive' games, they see more value in the remaining two and be able to screen every game on a single night. The 'Bank Holiday' fixtures remain means you are likely to get one of the festive bank holidays completely televised - which would be a huge ratings winner.

Most would gladly pay a subscription to watch our games on Sky, BT or whatever. The broadcasters seem to miss the point of why people watch streams, not to avoid paying but to actually see their team play in the only country in the world it's not broadcasted in.
