West Brom are investigating after four senior players were involved in what the club describe as an "incident" on their training trip to Spain this week.

The club say the players - who have not been named - will be "subject to the full rigours of our internal disciplinary procedures".

West Brom, who are bottom of the Premier League, host Southampton in the FA Cup fifth round on Saturday.

Manager Alan Pardew is set to hold his pre-match media briefing at 15:30 GMT.

They have won just one of their past 25 league matches.

The Baggies say they will not comment any further on the incident until the investigation is over.

Players from ailing Premier League side West Brom have been quizzed by police amid claims they stole a taxi to get back to their hotel after a drunken night out.

Police were called after the footballers allegedly drove off in the cab from a McDonald’s drive-through and abandoned it outside their luxury five-star Spanish hotel before going up to their rooms.

The four players - who have not been named - were hauled down to a local police station after being dragged out of bed at The One boutique hotel in Barcelona.

The alleged incident happened just before dawn on Thursday after the players took time out of a three-day warm-weather training camp.

From reports, I believe they actually stole a taxi from McDonald's and left it abandoned outside their hotel. http://westbrom.com/forum/index.php?topic=21436.0

Baggies boss Alan Pardew said the players involved had broken a midnight curfew, adding it was "unacceptable" and he "felt a bit let down".

"It wasn't what we wanted," he said. "We've gone there to try to get ourselves ready and up for the run-in and this is obviously not ideal."

Never mind that they stole a taxi, breaking curfew is the real issue here. Great stuff lol

Barry and Evans really should know better. Hardly setting a good example to the young players. Twats

Love the fact its four senior players too rather than four of the younger lads.

And all British too - "model pros" and all that etc.

Probably find out it was some kind of bet/prank that went wrong but like Izzy says those involved are probably their 4 most experienced players apart from Ben Foster!

Was a bit of an arsehole thing to do, especially seeing as its not only someones car but someone trade. At the same time, the immature side of me finds this whole story quite funny...

Still tho, hope the four guys give the owner of the cab decent money to cover loss of earnings, stress caused etc.
