Was in Liverpool on Sunday for the Everton United game with work. Was very impressed with the new stadium, especially the setting.

 

Walked back into town past loads of good pubs which were all busy. Then did a little crawl- Ship and Mitre, Bridewell, Grapes, Roscoe Head and Dispensary- all excellent and very different. Really liked the Roscoe Head- the owner is retiring so hopefully it remains a freehouse.

 

Think Liverpool is my favourite Uk city for pubs (the centre, suburbs aren't great). Still haven't done Sheffield properly though!

Liverpool pubs Ive always found to be packed. Granted most times I have been were Saturday’s but full of folk out for the day on the booze.

Couple of cans of Estrella Galicia in a very small Valencian town whilst waiting for a bull to be released in the streets of said town.

First few in 6 weeks or so

 

Central London hit up Seven Stars, Edgar Wallace, The Stranded, The Harp. All return visits and all great apart from the Edgar Wallace which was a new on me and outstanding, loved it.

 

Then a personal London favourite in the Jackelope, followed Stags Head and King and Queen which is a phenomenal pub and never fails

7 Stars is so cosy and has the best conversations of any London pub imo. Evesdropped some great stuff there. Used to love getting the tube down to Waterloo on summer evenings, wandering up to Holborn and ending up there to read for a couple of hours. Did it often in the Harp too by the creepy James Mason painting or upstairs if there was space, but got a bit annoyed by drunk people coming up to me and asking what I was doing.

Love the Jackalope. That and the Barley Mow Marylebone are our two favorites in the area.
 

Just finished an evening in York, many thanks to @Stadt and others here for the recs. Blue Bell, Golden Ball, Slip Inn, York Tap, Brew York, and more. Not my first time here, and certainly won’t be the last.

What's The Harp like these days? Was a regular for years when I was working round the corner most weeks, but haven't been for over 5 years now.

I’ve been to hull for work a few times recently and there’s a road intersection with a couple of pubs  that are always busy, I thought it must be a special occasion the first time I was there, but it was every day.

 

Any way, last pint was 2 small cans of cosmic tropical

ipa from beavertown whilst doing DIY. Quite pleasant

Had a great time at the Great Central Railway Beer Festival last night.

Not a recent pint but worth a mention today, Barnsley Bitter (Acorn brewery).

 

Back when the Shakespeare was still open by the underpass you could get the original Oakwell brewery version for just over £2 a pint!

 

Whilst Oakwell brewery is no more Barnsley bitter is alive and well. I found some in a pub in Edale last year after a hike. 

 

If anyone sees it today I recommend a pint or 2!

Drank a lot of this at kelham Island when I was at uni
