An Elgood's Cambridge bitter with my roast yesterday. Hoppy enough to dance on the tongue, felt very East Anglian in flavour.

Must get over that way again sometime. Rate Cambridge if you can avoid all the Hooray Henrys.

Been drinking a fair amount of Brewdog Black Heart, really like it. Find it much smoother than Guiness (especially as an at-home drink).

Black heart

Camden Stout

London Black

Guiness

What's your favourite?

Guinness is really not the best. Carling of the stout world imo.

Black heart has more roasted malt in it which gives it a stronger flavour imo.

Personally think Titanic beats both. Camden is very Meh and London Black is decent.

I'll have a look at Titanic

I've heard good things about St Ives Brewery's 'Zennor' but I've not managed to get my hands on any.

Cambridge bitter is one of my favourite pale ale types. Very refreshing in the summer. Their Black Dog is one of my favourite beers too. I like Elgoods. Quite an old school, medium-sized family brewer with a very beautiful old brewery.

I assume when you say you want to get over this way again you're not talking about Wisbech though.

Used to enjoy a Titanic Stout back in the day at the Rutland and Derby

Afraid not. Many unhappy memories of long Saturdays playing league cricket away at Wisbech. If I'm going that far east, I'll head straight on to Norfolk ta!

Recommend trying Galway Hooker Brewery - Nitro stout if you get a chance !

Every day I thank God that when my dad was offered a job in Long Sutton he chose to move to Norfolk and commute rather than live in Lincs.

(I know Wisbech is officially Cambridgeshire but culturally it's Lincs)

Old Session Hen is a quid at Morrisons and is actually really nice.

Must admit I didn't really know what session beer is but I've interpreted what I've read as meaning you can drink it all the time, forever.

Fair few beers in London yesterday. Did The Three Johns and Tamil Crown for a curry- both were decent, but nothing special.

Tamil prince is great. What did you think of three johns? I used to love it there but trusted sources Miquel and Cosby fox said it’s bad now.

Three Johns was decent but nothing special. They had some good keg beers on like Deya and Verdant, but Cask selection was poor.

I enjoyed the experience of the Tamil Crown and everything I ate was tasty, but the portion sizes were small and ended up spending a fair bit. I suppose what did I expect in zone 1. Maybe I'm just greedy lol. I'd go again though!

I actually really enjoyed the Camden Stout. Took me by surprise as I expected it to be a bit crap but found it very smooth and enjoyable.

Titanic’s standard stout is fine but the plum porter, especially the reserve, is unreal. Probably one of my favourite beers full stop.

Took the old boy the Warrington Hotel and the Prince Alfred round Maida Vale / Warwick Ave. Both still decent.

Gone in the Robin up Crouch Hill, a gaff I'd heard nothing but good things about and had huge hopes for and....it ****ing stinks. Like it smells of actual shite. Something is up with the plumbing and they've tried to cover it with bleach. Would love to give it another go when it doesn't smell like an actual arsehole but **** me

Aha the beer I had was a mild from marble and it was great, no qualms with that but the smell was overbearing so moved on. Landseer Arms, beer on Susan Perb form and a lovely gaff

Yes the Marble Mild is a very good one. A good mild is always something to be thankful for.
