Gosh, it's bit like the buses. You don't see a number 10 for ages, then a load turn up.

Hopefully not, the buggers drive right on by and never stop, the feckers.

No, you called him ‘average mediocre stats from an abysmal league’ same as when you tarred Maddison with the same brush....

lol ****ing hell you're something special.

I asked the question as to whether he's decent because people on here constantly bring his name up.

Turns out he's nearly 24 now and has average stats in an abysmal league.

Good effort though :)

Just been watching his youtube clips and his performance against Man City in Champs League.

Looks very good! Great with both feet, quick with the ball and can definitely pick a pass. Also seems very strong on the ball and can see him adapting well to the physical nature of the Prem.

Price wouldn't be too high and at only 23 (looks older!), likely to get better!

It's a big YES from me!

Sod Elyonoussi, if Bailey is up for grabs then we should go all out. Would be a serious statement and would be a genuinely good Mahrez replacement.

We're not getting Bailey man,

That ship has sailed, we should have picked him up when looking at Ndidi. He must have stood out at Gent, he would have been obtainable as well. We could have asked Ndidi his view of him and he fits our perfect player profile of being highly talented and young and playing for a club that sells their best players.

Oh aye the lad is destined for massive things.

But if we're going to lose Mahrez then i'd like us to go for genuine, proven quality. Someone that has done it at the top level.

I think Elyounoussi could be heading that way. From what I've seen, he looks fantastic and only 23. Really shone against Man City in the Champions League.

In his own words, Arsenal have been tracking him for a while and were set to step up that interest this window, but obviously change of Manager may have changed that somewhat and I think we could jump ahead of them if we are serious.

I think the price would still be reasonable too. £18million being suggested. I'd be happy with him or Thorgan Hazard. Still not sold on Shaqiri

I have no problem in signing Elyonoussi, but I would just be seriously deflated if that's the Mahrez replacement.

I think we need a winger regardless of whether Mahrez stays or goes.

Yeah we definitely missed a trick not getting Bailey in too. £12mil as well. We'd be getting offered four times that now (well, probably 1.5 times that as its us and we're a disgrace if we don't accept it)

I've always said we need 2 players to at least try and replace what Mahrez offers in creativity.

I think signing a genuine no.10 with flair and creativity was needed anyway, which we have done with Maddison.

Then signing a winger such as Elyounoussi, would mean we have Diabate/Gray and Albrighton/Elyounoussi with Maddison/Iheanacho no.10s

That to me still leaves us short of what Mahrez offered, but I see some good options there, especially if Diabate continues to shine and Gray finally has a break-through.

We may still be looking to bring in 2 wingers though but I'd imagine it would just be the one at this point as can see Puel keeping faith in Diabate/Gray for now

I'm personally happy with one more attacking player. Grealish would be my preference as I know nothing about Elyounoussi and won't look at any videos or stats unless we're more strongly linked.

At the moment behind Vardy and assuming Mahrez goes we have Maddison and maybe another new signing who should be guaranteed to start. Then we have Albrighton, Gray, Iheanacho and Diabate fighting for that last space. That's three young players who are given room to make that position their own which should keep them focused and highly motivated in the hope at least one of them has a breakthrough season.

Okazaki and Barnes are obvious omissions but I'd sell Okazaki for a half decent cash offer or keep as a squad player if we had to and Barnes needs to go on a season long loan to the Championship.

How would you line up if we had Grealish and Maddison? Think we would lose some width if both started, unless we are going for a back 3 and flying wing backs to overlap

Honestly, I'm sick of reading about a back 3. We'll have a back 2 with 2 full backs flying forward and 2-CDMs covering.

Schmeichel

Maguire, New CB, Evans

Pereira, Silva, Ndidi, New LWB

Maddison, Vardy, Grealish

Narrow 3-4-3 with the wingbacks providing the width. Maddison and Grealish our creative outlets. Chilwell or new LWB down the left.

I think that is likely too, but I wouldn't be that shocked if we do sign another CB and Puel maybe thinking of this change.

Wait and see I guess but certainly not something to get 'sick' about lol

It's just that half the forum seem to bang on about reverting to 3 at the back. It's like some almighty hang over from the MON days. We don't have the midfielders to play that formation.

No but we’ve got the wing backs.

Maybe right there, although we do have two ball playing CB's now, with another CB perhaps on the way in too. We also have Periera and Chilwell, who have the qualities to be more effective as wing backs in that formation as well - If anything we have more players that suit that formation than don't and I think that's why so many are suggesting it.

4-2-3-1

Attacking full backs

The three attacking midfielders playing narrow.

The two wider of the three attacking midfielders supporting the full backs who supply the width.

There would be plenty of little through balls slipped into Vardy which is better suited to him than crosses out wide.
