ealingfox Posted 3 August 2018 Posted 3 August 2018 Malan is crap. We will lose this match now and it's all our own doing. Completely chucked it away.
Bobby Hundreds Posted 3 August 2018 Posted 3 August 2018 How many times do we lose a wicket just before the end of a session? More brains in a pork pie.
AKCJ Posted 3 August 2018 Posted 3 August 2018 Malan takes that simple catch yesterday and we’d still be massive favourites. He’s cost us the test match.
Bobby Hundreds Posted 3 August 2018 Posted 3 August 2018 Great to hear Lord David Gaah and Bob Willis on TMS, a nice comment about trusting the public with referenda too.

I mean, in the days of DRS most of the time the right decision is going to be made anyway, but AFAIC I would wait until the umpire gave me out, even if tech could prove it easily. If you do it, you do it. If you don't, you don't. Always appreciate honesty if people do walk, but I think you're only a massive dick for not walking if you refuse to do it in friendly matches and stuff. In professional and league cricket the umpires should be getting it right anyway.
StanSP Posted 3 August 2018 Posted 3 August 2018 I'm similar to @Voll Blau - it's your own choice whichever you decide to do but you're pretty stupid if you don't walk when you know you're out, regardless of competition.
Voll Blau Posted 3 August 2018 Author Posted 3 August 2018 That said, you shouldn't go crying off when you get absolute pelters from fielders if you don't decide to walk after you've blatantly hit it.
AKCJ Posted 3 August 2018 Posted 3 August 2018 For me you're out of order if you nick it and you know it and they stay where you are regardless of competition.

I used to always walk when I was out, never ever crossed my mind to try and cheat the opposition which is what I considered it to be.

Absolutely. Anyone who knows they have hit it and stays can expect some chin music and serious barracking.

StanSP Posted 3 August 2018 Posted 3 August 2018 Curran's getting fiery! Been a shining light for England so far.
Guest MattP Posted 3 August 2018 Posted 3 August 2018 Sam Curran is the one great thing to come out of the match.
Bobby Hundreds Posted 3 August 2018 Posted 3 August 2018 Remarkably India now need to chase their highest total in a winning cause in England.
leicsmac Posted 3 August 2018 Posted 3 August 2018 Excellent stuff from Curran, imagine bringing up your maiden Test century by hoicking a very good quick bowler for six! Dragging us towards a defendable total here.
StanSP Posted 3 August 2018 Posted 3 August 2018 Curran has pretty much saved this match for England.
TheyCallMeMrCarbohydrate Posted 3 August 2018 Posted 3 August 2018 I know we're going to lose 2 wickets in rapid succession as soon as I write this but.... I wonder what a par score to chase in this game now is?

StanSP Posted 3 August 2018 Posted 3 August 2018 194 is the target then. Curran has made it somewhat competitive as it could have been chasing around 100 less than that when he came out, at 87-7. I think we'll make a meal of it to be honest

Bobby Hundreds Posted 3 August 2018 Posted 3 August 2018 Imagine thinking this format of the game no longer has legs. This has been an absolutely wonderful test match.
