Voll Blau Posted 2 August 2018 Author Posted 2 August 2018 Looks like we've already fvcked a bad review. That collapse yesterday must have really rocked our confidence.
Guest MattP Posted 2 August 2018 Posted 2 August 2018 Nothing in this pitch. Lot of pressure on Rashid to take wickets.

Finnegan Posted 2 August 2018 Posted 2 August 2018 Curran. Fantastic for a twenty year old, he'll be buzzing. That's stunning.
AKCJ Posted 2 August 2018 Posted 2 August 2018 I've had my eye on Sam Curran for a while now. Thought he'd be more of a one day player but he's bowling great length here with consistency. Good to have a left arm option. Hope he keeps going and gets the five-for.
ealingfox Posted 2 August 2018 Posted 2 August 2018 FFS!!!!!! Got them on toast here and drop 2 catches like that - will be made to pay for that I reckon.
StanSP Posted 2 August 2018 Posted 2 August 2018 Curran was brilliant earlier. Didn't know he was only 20. Seems good enough to fill Anderson or Broad's shoes. 20 hours ago, leicsmac said: Shame about the celebration, really. What was said about pride coming before a fall? The swearing was OTT but the mimicking of the mic drop was fine. 20 hours ago, Bert said: It’s the Indian cricket team, wouldn’t expect anything less. Your hate for the Indian team is funny Even the person the celebration was directed towards (Root) found the funny side about it and even said its good for the series...
Finnegan Posted 2 August 2018 Posted 2 August 2018 The sort of people complaining about Kohli are probably the sort of people that thought Root's bat drop was great. There's a really annoying section of English sports fans that love all banter unless it's aimed at them and then get ridiculously uppity and salty (see "do they mean us" thread.) Come on, it was funny. If you're going to dish it out you've got to be able to take it back. It adds a bit of flavour and personality. Besides, it'll only bite him in the ass the next time he has a mare. Look at Warner, place goes ballistic every time he's out for one or two. Sport loves a laugh with a pantomime villain.

I wouldn't say it's limited to English sports fans. Most people can dish it out but can't take it. I think the thing with the 'mic drop' celebrations is that Root's was aimed at the media. Not sure why Kholi took it as an act of offence towards him or the Indian cricket team. Seemed a bit weird. Ah well, all adds to the spice of Test match cricket.
Guest MattP Posted 2 August 2018 Posted 2 August 2018 I quite liked Kohli's celebration, always good to get a bit of needle in a series as well providing it doesn't get like Australia and South Africa. Root's mic drop was embarrassing and he even said so himself.

Or rustling any other fans for that matter.

Taking the piss a little with the mic drop is good banter but no need for the language (did he really think folks wouldn't understand it?) Anyway, fascinatingly poised right now.
Guest MattP Posted 2 August 2018 Posted 2 August 2018 Terrific bowling effort. I think Broad might have a fight for his place on soon. Curran actually swinging it more than Anderson.
Osavo Posted 2 August 2018 Posted 2 August 2018 Curran looks a superb little bowler. Skiddy but gets a lot of swing, and looks to be a handy bat too. Him and Stokes both as all rounders could be fantastic assets for us. And I always thought Tom was the better of the two brothers.
leicsmac Posted 2 August 2018 Posted 2 August 2018 Should be tidying up the tail a little more adroitly than this. Still, if you'd offered me a 50-60 run lead after this first innings batting first at the start of the match I would have taken it.
StanSP Posted 2 August 2018 Posted 2 August 2018 hope Kohli doesn't lose out on his century through lack of batting partners
