Raheem Sterling piece

I really like Raheem Sterling and don't understand the stick he gets.  It's ridiculous.  He's a great player with a good head on his shoulders and should be an ambassador for English football.

Genuinely, I don't understand the negative perceptions of him.

was assuming someone would post this. absolutely sensational footballer and a great young chap to boot. a real role model.

He would walk into any Premier League team and most European sides as well. He is only 23 and still learning!

I don't get the hate or press witch hunt at all seems like a genuinely nice guy that has a lot of love for his family.

I don't like the on field histrionics and the diving and rolling around, it's ****ing irritating and I hope he grows out of it.

As with another serial cheat on the pitch, though, Drogba, he seems like an actually solid guy off it.

Coming to the realisation that Drogba was actually a great guy was just as conflicting as all the recent Sterling articles have been. Let's be honest, we all love our football hate figures and Sterling was a big one for me.

Oh well, I've still got Adam Lallana. lol

Its funny really, it seems the more the press attack him the more love people show for him. Don't know what their problem is really. Hope he does amazing this summer and sticks 2 fingers up at the press.

Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling has arranged for 550 pupils from his old school to attend the FA Cup semi-final between his side and Brighton at Wembley on Saturday.

Students from the Ark Elvin Academy in London also met the England international at City's training complex in Manchester on Thursday.

Sterling, 24, was raised near Wembley after moving from Jamaica aged five.

He studied at Copland Community School, which was renamed in 2014.

"It is great to be able to give these students the chance to watch a game at Wembley," Sterling said. "I grew up right next door to the stadium and would dream of one day playing in a cup final or even representing my country there.

"This is a great opportunity to give back to the community that helped me get to where I am."

Sterling, who has scored 19 goals for City this season, has made charitable donations in the past. In 2017, he made a "substantial" undisclosed contribution to the fund set up after the Grenfell Tower fire.
