Messi for me, but regarding the two being the best - Rio Ferdinand was spot on when he said that their sustained domination is far more impressive than either of them being outstanding for a few years and winning a World Cup.

Depends how you like to be entertained. In football terms, I think Messi's style is more entertaining.
I don't care a great deal about what happens off the pitch.

The masses and media see them and treat them as the celebrities they are.

I don't sympathise with selfish behaviour and the irony is of course that both of these individuals excel in what is a TEAM sport.

I wasnt talking about football terms. 

 

Dont need to talk about off the pitch, although I do enjoy how Ronaldo is. Vain and arrogant, but seems to enjoy it and people enjoy him and he enjoys the joy of people so thats all good, but put that to the side...

 

I'm talking about on the pitch:  mardiness, celebrations (including vociferous claims of being the GOAT after scoring a world cup free kick worldy), general demeanor, Ronaldo just stands out that little bit more

 

If, on day of judgement, the God of football is weighing things up and things balanced out in terms of goals, trophies, assists etc...  it would go to yellow cards, red cards...if that balanced out then it would depend on God's view point:

Does he favour the humble?  Or does he favour one who lives flamboyantly, which, though arrogant, serves the task of entertaining others

 

If he decides that balances out, it goes to does he favour the kempt or the unkempt.

 

And, as we know, if it comes down to a game of table tennis, Ronnie wins

 

 

PS. afterthought, in footballing terms, that control on the thigh to the soft control of the foot (whilst running!) and finish on his weaker foot which Messi scored the other day...

I'm not sure if Ronaldo could have done that, was sublime

 

I wonder if anyone has a clip of Ronaldo doing some control as tekkers as that

Both were brilliant for the past ten years or so.

Both are on the (slow, but steady) decline. It's only natural.

 

Let's just rejoice the fact that we've been blessed to have lived to see them both perform magic on the pitch.

 

Personally, I've never really liked either of them. But you can't but respect and admire what they both have achieved over the years.

And I find this constant comparison annoying.
