Countryfox Posted 27 March 2019 Posted 27 March 2019 Spotted this in todays Mercury ... whilst it was talking about how clever Brendan is at managing a club (and I know he is a vast improvement on Clod in relation to building a great team spirit, but, I think NP and the Don did that as well) ... it inadvertently reminded me of something else ... look at the last line of the first column ... 'He's a top manager'. He is indeed a Top manager, the first appointment of his new role within the club, and I think the man deserves a lot of credit for the way he has handled things since his fathers death. He has had a lot (and still has) to deal with, but with regard to this club he has quietly kept things going and has installed a very impressive new manager without any hassle ... quite seamless in fact. I take my hat off to you .. you are obviously a chip off the old block and your father would be proud of you. Top, you are a Top man.
Lambert09 Posted 27 March 2019 Posted 27 March 2019 Absolutely, he’s done great given the circumstances. I have always had the impression that Top was as involved in the decision making as his dad? Very much a joint project. Everybit as important to our club as Vichai and I feel in just as safe hands as before. He has such a calming influence when he speaks and seems to always say the right things, despite English not being his first language.
OhYesNdidi Posted 27 March 2019 Posted 27 March 2019 Never seen any less team spirit than when ‘don’ was in charge.
urban.spaceman Posted 27 March 2019 Posted 27 March 2019 The strength he’s had to so publicly cope with the tragedy has been incredible. His lap around the KP with Apichet showed just how much love he has for us too. We’re in amazingly good hands IMO.
harpendenfox Posted 27 March 2019 Posted 27 March 2019 Absolutely agree. The manner in which this still young man has dealt with extraordinary personal tragedy is dignity personified. We are truly fortunate that he and his Dad chose to love our pretty darn middle of the road football club, and have led us all on the most extraordinary journey. I am by nature a bit of a pessimist, but I am extremely positive about the coming months.
Guest Manini Posted 27 March 2019 Posted 27 March 2019 First appointment since taking control of the club, Brendan Rodgers. And prying him away half way through the season as well. I mean it could all go tits up yet, but it’s some statement. Hats off to the bloke nobody else id rather have running our club.

StriderHiryu Posted 27 March 2019 Posted 27 March 2019 It's possible Top might end up doing an even better job than his father with the club. As he is younger he might be less patient to see success, hence why he brought in Rodgers now instead of the summer. In January he said "I want to make this a strong, strong team, but I don't want us to go too fast in case we fall back." What I think he means by this is that some clubs like Everton have spent a lot of money but if anything are slightly worse now than when they started. Or take Fulham who have spent 100M to get relegated on their return to the top flight. I think Top will continue to strengthen and back the club, but I think he's doing it the right way. Long term planning is never as sexy as an overnight success, but it usually pays off!

Yes his second season was bad, but there were many reasons for that. You do remember we won the League with a fantastic team spirit when Claudio was our manager don’t you? I fail to understand what people like you get from attempting to dilute the magnificence of that wonderful time for us in any way shape or form. ****ing pathetic.

At least get the words in the right order. Whilst frustrated there’s not really a need for this! Everybody has an opinion and they are entitled to write it. I’ve often disagreed with who this is targeted at but really? Take some breaths and pour yourself a gin you feisty sod!

Florest have been planning their way back to the EPL for years, it is just a case of them keep losing the plans, but their fans are patient as they have no other choice in the matter.
