Is that because of how highly you personally rank test cricket above short formats? Or do you believe that's a view most full time cricket fans would support?

Or do you believe that's a view most full time cricket fans would support? Yep, just this upcoming Ashes series. To me test cricket is vastly superior game, with the Ashes series being the pinnacle of the sport. Don't get me wrong I've enjoyed our turnaround in the ODI game but I don't view the format like the majority of subcontinent teams' fans do. However, saying that I have been more interested in this tournament than previous because the balance between bat and ball has been a lot closer.
StanSP Posted 11 July 2019 Author Posted 11 July 2019 Australia batting first. I can't call this one. Finch and Warner need to set in and not get out cheaply like against NZ I think it was. They don't bat as deep as England but there's some players who can knock it about like Carey if needed. England's batting is so strong that Australia need to get 300+ at least.
StanSP Posted 11 July 2019 Author Posted 11 July 2019 @Finnegan for what it's worth I prefer test format over ODI format. It's much more tactical and less immediate in terms of sometimes having to play the long game. It's as much effort required in the head as it is on the field. Gotta have a lot of patience for it as a player or a fan. I'd love it India had something equivalent to the Ashes but that isn't happening in our lifetime at all. With the focus being on the shorter format as that's where the money and attention is. I love watching the Ashes though. Definitely the pinnacle of cricket even if you have no association to either country. I'd be surprised if any England or Australia fan would prefer a world cup win over an Ashes series.
trabuch Posted 11 July 2019 Posted 11 July 2019 Hahaha. Brilliant from Archer - and what a stupid wasted review!

I loved the last England India series, it was fantastic!

Bobby Hundreds Posted 11 July 2019 Posted 11 July 2019 I know I said I prefer tests but seeing Warner walking back to the shed is just as enjoyable in all formats.
trabuch Posted 11 July 2019 Posted 11 July 2019 I'm enjoying this. If Archer gets Smith next over....I'll explode.
TheSomersetFox Posted 11 July 2019 Posted 11 July 2019 Couldn’t have wished for a better start could we? Dreamland

Surely though it was shown to be out? Or was it because it was hitting the very top and there's always a margin of error?
foxfanazer Posted 11 July 2019 Posted 11 July 2019 Love seeing the Aussies rattled. Need to keep the pressure on
