Never get yourself too excited until you've seen both sides bat on it a bit!

Looking good though. I think we'd have taken having them 121/5 after 28.

Big respect to Carey for batting on with that injury though. Fancy being hit on the chin at 90mph +

Absolutely correct. But I can't help myself!!

Oh absolutely. Its been a superb bowling performance so far.

Always concerns me with Steve Smith still there. If we could get Smith before he goes too big, I'd be absolutely delighted and would then make Root our key man to play the 'Smith' role and let our hitters bat around him.

The Aussies do have a good attack so lets not got too carried away.

He's a big worry for the Ashes too. We don't seem to be able to trouble him. Can't stand the cheating cry baby - but have to admit he's a damn fine batsmen.

Is the common consensus here that Warner and Finch ****ed up and wasted good batting conditions or will Starc and Cummins be looking at Woakes and Archer's bowling with their eyes lighting up?

Bit of both. When you have 2 quality batsmen it's always a bit of waste when they get out so early. One is bad but for both to go it's not a good thing at all.

Gotta believe that Starc will be good on pretty much any surface. Just a bonus as well that other bowlers are succeeding.

Starc will be warming up already. I bet he can't wait to have a bowl on it.

I tend to think they have the best all round attack in the world cup - although this pitch has suited our quicks.

Assuming Aus bowl well, its a game of who can bat better. Seems obvious, but there it is.

I bet Nathan Lyon can’t wait to have a bowl on this it’s turned right angles for Rashid

Agreed. Rashid hasn't even bowled great lines in my view, but his figures are decent considering he's picked up 2 wickets.

Might have to try to hit Lyons out of the attack if Australia don't have many on the board, not sure they'll risk him much.

We'll see.

I've got enough confidence in England to chase down a total on this pitch given their batting expertise down the order. Unless there's a collapse which they were famed for in the last 2-3 years. They seem to have got that sorted now with their aggressive style.
