🍺🍟🍗🦊 Oh what a night . . . Baileys . . . nightmare trying to scoff ‘Chicken in a Basket’ and chips, with a plastic fork, in the dark, holding your beer, standing behind the rope next to the dance floor - the floor area of which was about the size of a skip . . . if that wasn’t enough they lined the ‘basket’ with a red paper napkin . . . most of which you’d eaten before you realised it⁉️
Great night . . . miss those days

Haha, those were the days. My era too.
But what’s Roger Whittaker doing on that list as cabaret! I bet there’s wasn’t anyone taking any notice of him!

On the night of 14 November, 1940, the football ground was hit. This was the night when 449 bombers devastated Coventry, kilIing more than 500 people. Leicester was on the flight path of that raid. A single bomber dropped a string of 17 high explosive bombs in a line from Hinckley Road and Fosse Road South, towards the Cattle Market, Filbert Street and Grace Road. Two people were killed. The mortuary was at the Tigers ground. The injured were taken to a First Aid Post at Granby Halls....

Weller and Birchenall sign for the City 1971.
