Why not do the same as now, but make the two lines wider, say the equivalent of (for example) a ball's width wide. Then the rule becomes it's only offside if the two lines don't meet.

I'm reading a Carlo Rovelli book at the moment while semi-simultaneously keeping an eye on FT and arguing with someone on WhatsApp about group boiler maintenance discounts, so the above idea has not received 100% of my attention and may be utterly idiotic.

All they need to do is accurately measure how far a player can travel in one frame and then compensate that distance into the line thickness, or just go back to how it was years ago and say if there’s daylight between the attacker and defenders chest, then you’re offside.

Whats the point of a linesmen raising his flag for offside now we have VAR? It stops attacks that are potentially onside, like the Lacazette one just now which looked very close & probably would have been a certain goal if the flag wasn’t raised.

Can always check for the offside with VAR    after the goals scored

Aubameyang putting in a shift. Totally different Arsenal side today.

Chelsea doing their best to not be in the champions league again next season. Think wolves will get at least a point today

Would be quite sensational if Wolves got CL football. Their rise in the last 3 years has been incredible.

Would love it if both us and Wolves got CL football this year.

Chelsea have lost 7 (could be 8 today) and are still 4th. Shows how bad Spurs, United and Arsenal have been.

Would be some season for them especially if they make it a few more rounds in the europa league as well.
