Tommy Posted 8 April 2006 Posted 8 April 2006 After not playing FM for a good while now, I have started it back up and commenced a new season with Leicester City! After being given £1 Million to spend in the transfer market at the start of July, I set about bringing players in to sit comfortably in my new formation. Most notably I needed a Right Wing Back, and 2 Attacking Midifelders on both the left and the right side. So with the £1 Million, I have brought in....... Fabian Wilnis - RWB - Ipswich - 250k Jay Tabb - AMR/L/C - Brentford 150k (subject to other clubs bidding) Paul Green - AMR - Doncaster - 300k Jose Manuel Dominguez - AML - Free My team/formation for the season, Up the Foxes!

Tommy Posted 9 April 2006 Posted 9 April 2006 Intresting Formation Well its working And I have also brought in Liam Lawrence for my right hand flank after Paul Green got injured and the Jay Tabb move fell through as he chose to go to Bolton instead Stephen Hughes will be leaving Leicester for Man City in January for 350k and in return I am looking to bring in another left winger as neither Dominguez or Hamill are doing a good enough job.

Depending on what version your using i.e patch, then you can get Michael Brown (LC/CM) on a free who is pretty good on FM. Also David Thompson Right wing, David Dunn and others i cant remember at the moment. All at the end of the 1st season in FM, very useful players on a free IMO and will be useful for your 1st season in the Prem.
foxes_fan Posted 12 April 2006 Posted 12 April 2006 FFS! This game is really starting to piss me off now. I'm currently in season 2010 with the mighty Leicester City, having gained promotion to the big time via the play offs in my first season i then proceeded to keep them in the premiership by the skin of thier teeth. Then in my third season in the big time was great, managed to finish 6th and qualify for Europe now in my 4th season i am having an absoloute mare and can't string a win together for love nor money in the league, but in the cup competitions i am sensational. So, is this a **** glitch in the game or what?
Tommy Posted 14 April 2006 Posted 14 April 2006 Well my FM is going fantastic. After starting again with Notts County in League Two, I set about bringing glory days to Meadow Lane. I brought in a mix of youngsters from top Premiership teams such as Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs, aswell as a few old heads to bring in some experience to the side. Those I brought in were: Paul Harrison - Goalkeeper from Wolves Jerome Watt - Attacking Midfielder from Blackburn David Mannix - Midfielder from Spurs Filipe Morais - Winger from Chelsea Kieran McKenna - Midfielder from Spurs Steven Torpey - Striker from Torquay And after bringing these players in I brought in two coaches, Simon Morgan to help with the defence side of things, aswell as Simon Clifford for the attacking side. So after completing these tasks, and completing the season in turn, the table looked like this Bring on League One I kept the main core of the squad together, renewing loans of many of the youngsters we had on loan previously, I brought in: Darren Kenton - Full back from Southampton for 18k (personally I saw that as a bit of a bargain) Matt Jansen - Striker for a free transfer I brought no more new staff in, and after carrying out the transfers and the like, we started the season, and after it had ran its course this is how the table looked, Thats right, Notts County in the Coca Cola Championship. I felt for once in my course of management at Meadow Lane there would need to be wholesale changes to ensure we stayed in this division, which prompted me to bring in: David Dunn - Midfielder on a free transfer Steve Harper - Goalkeeper on a free transfer Kevin Lisbie - Striker on a free transfer Rob Kozluk - Full back on a free transfer Steve Crainey - Full back on a free transfer Khaliou Fadiga - Winger on a free transfer Jermanie Wright - All round midfielder on a free transfer Leigh Mills - Centre half on a free transfer Lee Morris - Yes, that one, on a free transfer After 14 games of our first Championship season, after 2 succesive promotions, it is not looking fantastic I must admit, however, I have full faith we can stay up Up the Magpies, we are staying up!
Libertine Posted 14 April 2006 Posted 14 April 2006 Finished 7th in my second season. Just started the third, and I'm doing awful. Got thrashed 6-1 away to Reading on the opening day. I brought in some decent players, including Henrik Pedersen and Fabrice Fernandes. I also had to bring in a keeper as Rab got injured, so I loaned Cerny from Spurs. Elvis is still banging them in, but the defence is leaking goals. Hopefully I'll turn it around like last season.
stez Posted 15 April 2006 Posted 15 April 2006 ark at me! thrashing the mighty team bath!! seriously though, get phil younghusband he is fantastic!!
LCFC UK Posted 16 April 2006 Posted 16 April 2006 After coming top in the Championship and getting promoted to the Prem, hear is where i sat at the end of the 1st season in prem:- Matty still only 21 and his stats getting better and better

Strokes Posted 18 April 2006 Posted 18 April 2006 Just purchased FM for xbox 360 not tried it yet, has anybody else tried it?
LCFC UK Posted 18 April 2006 Posted 18 April 2006 I'll get a different pic. But how do you do it mate? Firstly put the pic in Data/Graphics/Champ/Leicester (where all the leicester player photo's are) Make sure the photo is the same size etc as the other photo's else will not work. You also have to edit the config file in Data/Graphics/Champ/Leicester I'm at work at the moment so when i get home tonight il double check to make sure what it needs to be called.

I got the above wrong, do as follows:- FM2006/Data/Graphics/Pictures/Players/Eng..(nearly there)..Championship/Leicester, put your player pic in there..label it matty fryatt (no caps). and then copy this in the config in the same folder and save. <record from="matty fryatt" to="graphics/pictures/person/5113662/portrait"/> Make sure you write it as above and it sits in place with all the others in the config file, sounds complicated but it aint.
stez Posted 19 April 2006 Posted 19 April 2006 <_< why not injure ome more of the fockers! i've not won for over a month thanks to that injury list! anymore injuries and it'd have been 2x! <_< <_< <_< <_< <_< david pipes moral is poor as is mine
Tommy Posted 19 April 2006 Posted 19 April 2006 Where I left off before, I had played 14 games in the Championship with Notts County, and we were looking on odds on for relegation. Well unfortunately, the relegation took place and the Magpies were back into League One. My Assistant Manager had decided to leave Notts County at the end of the season to become a scout at Liverpool, so I brought in Paul Jones (ex Wolves keeper and the such) as my new assistant. And transfer wise I brought in: James Wesolowski - MC - 1k from Leicester Sebastien Carole - AML/R - 4k from Brighton Andy Hughes - MRC - 1k from Norwich Ray Parlour - MRC - Free from Middlesborough After doing this, I started the season and when this had finished the league table looked like this: As you can see, I finished 4th, meaning I had to win in the play-offs. I beat Bournemouth 2-0 at home and 3-1 away leaving me the play-off final at Wembley against Wolves. It was 2-2 at full time, and eventually took us to penalties where we won 3-1. Back to the Championship with the Magpies, and learning my lesson of 2 seasons before, I made more wholesale changes and brought in: Henrik Pederson - DL/ML - Free Boaz Myhill - GK - Free Mathias Doumbe - DC - Free Carl Hoefkens - DC - Free Lee Hendrie - ML - Free Claude Makelele - DMC - Free Lee Trundle - SC - Free Francesco Coco - D/ML - Free Jay DeMerit - DC - Free Robbie Fowler - SC - Free And after 16 games I was in 10th with the Magpies, looking we had learnt our lesson of seasons past. So thats 3 promotions and 1 relegation in 4 years. But I started to feel the need of a new challenge and Birmingham came in for me to take over as their new manager from Eric Black. My first game I beat Plymouth 1-0 , then drew 0-0 at Southampton adn then 1-1 at newly promoted Millwall whilst in the middle of these results losing 3-0 at Arsenal in the League Cup 4th round. Birmingham are considered to be relegation favourites, and were confounding that prediciton when I took over as they were 22nd. But in the long rung I aim to bring the glory days back to St. Andrews. Up The Blues!
LCFC UK Posted 20 April 2006 Posted 20 April 2006 Can i just ask...whats the fascination with Notts County?
Ricey Posted 20 April 2006 Author Posted 20 April 2006 Ditto mate - although I've got a version 1.5 PSP which means I didn't have to buy the game Took me ages to decide whether to stick with 1.5 or continuing upgrading, eventually I decide to upgrade as I don't want to clog up my memory with games and having to worry about my PSP being safe. I have FM Handheld also and it's great, very addictive

I have FM Handheld also and it's great, very addictive :nono: :nono: You could've sold the 1.5 PSP for a profit as they are becoming more and more rare - and they are indeed more valuable than 2.01+ PSPs, and then bought a new PSP which would have been cheaper. Anyway, the hackers are becoming pretty good at getting the latest games to work on 1.5, so you could've got FM to play on it. Btw I've got two 2gb memory sticks and one 1 gb stick, so you're right about clogging up memory with games and the like. And what do you mean about worrying about your PSP being safe? Why wouldn't it be safe on 1.5?
