Managed to get mine this morning in the nick of time, on at 8 and using best available selection. This was always going to be a very popular fixture. Shame we didn't get more tickets as I don't think the home end is very full yet.

We could have easily taken 4-5,000.

I've seen several comments from Luton fans (on twitter and on their forum) that they don't want to pay £25 for a cup match. Which is a fair point. I understand from comments that Kenilworth Road was full against Ipswich and they wanted to replicate that at the same prices.

So yeah I agree we could have taken way more. I'm excited; nw ground for me.

I agree with them tbh, could've docked maybe £5-10 off the ticket prices and they'd probably completely sell out the place.

For a cup match against a PL team, £25 is very reasonable. I don't get why cup games have to be cheaper. They're paying up to £30 to watch a game in the Championship, so £25 to watch the former Champions of England of the PL is not too bad. It's a small (ish) club who still need the gate receipt money.

On the other hand, if this was Leicester vs Luton, I would expect tickets to be cheap so that the King Power could be decently full. Luton should be selling this game out no questions asked. If they don't, then good for us.

Each team gets a 45% split of gate receipts. KR has a capacity of just over 10,000. Let's say a sellout at £25 a ticket (corporate will obviously be more but for ease of argument will take £25 as set price) will get each club a share of £112.5k. I would have thought that the club could have negotiated a lower price (either £15/£20) and handed over a bigger proportion of their share to Luton.

Didn't know that. I think lower league clubs should be given a much bigger share of cup gate receipts if drawn against a team in the premier league.

Or we give them our full share (or a larger share) anyway, as they need it more than we do.

Well exactly, £15 a ticket and we hand them our entire share then they take £150k minimum, which is more than the £112.5k split they'd have got, both sets of fans appeased and a full ground for an exiting game.

I still dont see the need to charge £20/25 quid for a cup game. Lower the price, pack your ground and create a brilliant atmosphere.

Clubs all too often forget we're fans, not cash machines.

If anybody can help me I’d appreciate it.  I’m trying to get my 5, soon to be 6 year old son a ticket.

He comes to most of the other away games with me as he wins the members ballots regularly and is able to buy a ticket on the first day of sales.

He didn’t win this time, I’ve tried a few friends refs but none have enough points.

Ive bought my ticket, however, unfortunately if he doesn’t go I can’t go either, as it’s his birthday!  If I go without him I fear this would make me a pretty awful human being!

I don’t mind which age bracket the ticket is, I’ll buy any!

I have sorted this now - thanks for the offers of help!
