David Guiza Posted 26 November 2019 Posted 26 November 2019 May have been done on here before, apologies if so! So, who gets in yours? I think I'd go:- De Gea Zabaleta Kompany Terry Azpilicueta Kante Lampard Silva Hazard Vardy Aguero Without personal bias interfering, I guess one could easily swap Vardy for Kane or Suarez .
Fox92 Posted 26 November 2019 Posted 26 November 2019 Is it judged on ability or contribution? I mean, I think De Gea had an excellent one / two seasons (okay, he bails a poor Man Utd team out constantly) but in terms of ability I think Edison and Alison are both better than him. De Gea Zabaleta -- Kompany -- Terry -- Bale (can I have Bale at left back..?) Kante -- Yaya Toure -- David Silva Suarez -- Kane -- Aguero

I was torn between people like Terry and Lampard and people who played more games over the decade, but thought they were both better players and offered more to Chelsea in those 4/5 years than others have over 10. Fullbacks was the most difficult I thought, there seems to be a plethora of them now, and you had Cole, Evra etc in the past. But last 10 years has been fairly average on the whole. Incidentally, I saw a post with each Champions League team of the season for the past decade and it's amazing how some players just fall off the face of the Earth after a good season, even at the highest level.
CollinsLCFC Posted 26 November 2019 Posted 26 November 2019 Cech Azpilicueta Kompany Terry Robertson Kante D.Silva De Bruyne Hazard Aguero Kane Suarez (Forgot about him)

urban.spaceman Posted 26 November 2019 Posted 26 November 2019 To be honest, I've only ever cared about Leicester City, so I never really paid much attention to the Premier League when we weren't in it. I tend not to pay much attention to rival teams either - mainly as I can't be doing with all the media fawning and social media fights over whether Ronaldo or Messi are better (original Ronaldo is your answer). So the only answer I could give you is exactly what Facecloth said: 26 minutes ago, Facecloth said: Schmeichel Simpson Huth Morgan Fuchs Mahrez Kante Drinkwater Albrighton Okazaki Vardy This team were told that they were going to be relegated at the start of that season. All the other title winners and runners up went in challenging for it. We had the best Premier League team ever. And that is indisputable.
Stadt Posted 26 November 2019 Posted 26 November 2019 DDG Zabaleta Kompany Van Dijk Azpilicueta Toure Kante Silva Sterling Aguero Hazard There's hardly been any players that have performed consistently throughout those years. The likes of Rooney, Gerrard, Drogba, Lampard, Terry and Cole's best form was before the turn of the decade. It's hard to place players like Suarez and Bale because they were brilliant for a season or two and were off.
Guest Kopfkino Posted 26 November 2019 Posted 26 November 2019 When I saw it on MNF I couldn't believe that both had chosen Azpillicueta at left back but then I think about it and there has really been a lack of really decent left backs in this decade. Still, Evra was still decent until Fergie left and would choose Robertson over him even though it's not been very long. Otherwise I think they were pretty much spot on. DDG Zabaleta Kompany VVD Robertson Silva Kante Yaya Hazard Suarez Sterling Tbf Suarez or Aguero is hard, just prefer Suarez as a player but Aguero would also deserve it.
AKCJ Posted 26 November 2019 Posted 26 November 2019 De Gea Kompany - Terry - Van Dijk Sterling - Yaya - Kante - Hazard Silva Aguero - Kane

Thought about Clichy, had a look at his stats and he never played more than 30 league games in a season this decade, nor do I think he was actually that good anyway. I think when putting a team of the decade together you've probably got to opt for a combination of ability and longevity rather than purely ability.

Soar Fox Posted 26 November 2019 Posted 26 November 2019 VVD had 1 good season and getting into a lot of teams.
StanSP Posted 26 November 2019 Posted 26 November 2019 Did this on another forum and ended up with this: De Gea Azpilicueta - Kompany - Terry Yaya Salah - Fabregas - D. Silva - Hazard Kane - Aguero Was genuinely difficult to omit players like Suarez, Kante, RVP, Zabaleta, Ramsey, Vardy, Mahrez, De Bruyne.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 26 November 2019 Posted 26 November 2019 Hazard, Kompany and Silva have to be in everyone's sides, surely? They'd be three I'd be absolutely set on.

Outstanding defender but in the past decade we've seen the likes of Kompany and even Terry, Vidic were still first team regulars at the start of the decade (Terry was excellent when Chelsea won the league under Mourinho for the third time).

Still can't believe Azpilicueta is only 30. Good defender too.
Fox92 Posted 26 November 2019 Posted 26 November 2019 "No wonder he failed at Valencia". Seriously though, another interesting debate.
Osavo Posted 27 November 2019 Posted 27 November 2019 Lots of similar looking teams which is unsurprising. Tough to pick a single striker but Aguero gets the nod over Kane/Suarez due to sheer longevity. DDG Ivanovic Kompany VVD Azpilicueta Toure Kante Silva Sterling Aguero Hazard Unlucky to miss out: Kane, Suarez, Terry, Eriksen, De Bruyne, Zabaleta. Surprising the lack of stand-out defensive options.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 29 November 2019 Posted 29 November 2019 DDG Zabaleta Kompany Terry Clichy(haven't got a clue for left back tbh lol) Toure Kante Silva Bale Aguero Suarez
