foxinsocks Posted 30 December 2019 Posted 30 December 2019 I seem to be in the cup scheme.... they sent me a ticket for the villa game :-) But why doesn't the cup scheme cover the fa cup... I have no ticket for the Wigan game . Is this normal? Maybe the fa cup is no longer a cup?

From originally planning to open only 2 sides and then opening extra blocks up 1 by 1 with the extra demand. Whoever made the decision to open 2 sides wants sacking in my opinion. Also my view is that if 11 000 attended the game, 11 000 on 4 sides is a better atmosphere than 11000 on 2 sides. That is absolutely awaful and isnt football. Anyway, it's heading for a sell out, with a lot of season ticket holders inconvenienced by having to sit elsewhere or have probably not attending. The 4 per person on general sale as allowed fans who struggle to get tickets for league games to get to a game. The original decision to open 2 sides is 'small time'. Just shows what the club's thinking is.

Just shows what the club's thinking is. To be honest, I only expected 2 stands to be open. With it (only) being Wigan and the 3rd round, we would not traditionally sell that many tickets. I am a season ticket holder. It doesn’t bother me sitting somewhere different - it will make a change and be a chance to try a different part of the ground. Can never understand why people expect someone to be sacked over things like this - ridiculous.

Even in league 1 when we were at home in Rounds 1 and 2 we opened all the ground. 2nd in the table, tickets £10 and they and you thought 10 000 would turn up. This is the Cup, the FA Cup. We are desperate to win it. We've had 51 years of hurt since our last final and everyone should be ashamed at that statistic. We should be moving heaven and earth to lift the Cup in May. People at the club are paid good money to make decisions. To make the RIGHT decisions. They got it wrong. Out of touch with their own fan base. Sack em!

Big Dave Posted 1 January 2020 Posted 1 January 2020 It would be just as, maybe even more a shite atmosphere if all the stands were open but only 50% full. It costs a lot of money to open up all of the stands (extra stewards, power, etc) so seems sensible if the club do not know what the attendance will be.

I mean the amount of tickets left for a villa semi final is madness. If I wasn't a season ticket holder I'd have been all that match.
