Nalis Posted 8 May 2020 Posted 8 May 2020 If we have a thread for the Belarus top flight I think the K League deserves one too! Starts today at 10.50am UK time today and matches are live on the BBC website. Who is your team? I'm unashamedly glory hunting and going for the current champions Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 8 May 2020 Posted 8 May 2020 Not watched any Belarusian but I'm gonna give this a go – got a soft spot for Suwon from FIFA 06/7 days so I'll go for them, they're playing today in all.
davieG Posted 8 May 2020 Posted 8 May 2020 Some background info. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/football/52581366
StanSP Posted 8 May 2020 Posted 8 May 2020 Suwon Bluewings cos they play in blue so virtually the equivalent to Leicester.
StanSP Posted 8 May 2020 Posted 8 May 2020 Don't know if my standards of watching football have dropped or if I'm just happy football has returned but this isn't a bad 0-0 so far between Jeonbuk and Suwon

Jimothy Posted 8 May 2020 Posted 8 May 2020 Fans aren't really getting behind the teams. Disappointing.
Stadt Posted 8 May 2020 Posted 8 May 2020 Despite them turning me down on FM, gonna be supporting FC Seoul. Seem a bit less corporate than the others based on my very limited knowledge of Korean football
Nalis Posted 8 May 2020 Author Posted 8 May 2020 Goal, come on you greeeens! It was coming though Suwon knock the ball about well when they have it. Potential unpopular opinion but I think the crowd noise does improve things from watching on tv and could work if they are club specific in the premier league.

FoxesDeb Posted 8 May 2020 Posted 8 May 2020 Never been so disappointed watching a goal go in against a team I'd never heard of just over an hour before in a league I've never watched and know nothing about
StanSP Posted 8 May 2020 Posted 8 May 2020 wtf how weird is that?! Match finishes and one of the conditions was players/staff not to talk to each other (impossible, obviously, but still stated). Then they go and do a post-match press conference on the pitch with player and interviewer not wearing masks
ALC Fox Posted 8 May 2020 Posted 8 May 2020 5 hours ago, StanSP said: When is the 'LEICESTER SUWON ALLIANCE' starting up? I once stayed in the same hotel as Jeonbuk when they played FC Seoul in the capital, but I have seen Suwon play live before so I was rooting for the Bluewings earlier. Gutted they couldn't hold on for the draw. The piped-in crowd noise was a bit weird when coupled with an empty stadium. But when I saw them live four-and-a-half years ago it was also strange. The atmosphere was decent and there was a strong vocal support behind one of the goals, but that support didn't really seem to be affected by what was happening on the pitch from what I could gather. Even when goals went in for and against, that section of support continued to sing in the same manner unperturbed. It was a good day out though.
Guest Bilo Posted 8 May 2020 Posted 8 May 2020 They'll be dancing on webcams in lounges across Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors tonight.
foxile5 Posted 10 May 2020 Posted 10 May 2020 My old stomping ground is daegu. Their team motto this season is 'size doesn't matter' which is odd.
ALC Fox Posted 12 May 2020 Posted 12 May 2020 The pace was quite slow and both teams were quite direct from what I remember. But it wasn't awful by any means and it was quite entertaining. It was the only Korean match I'd see until the one on the TV the other day. In that one Jeonbuk were very good. They moved the ball around well and seemed to have some good technical players but couldn't break through Suwon's stubborn defence until late on when Suwon were down to ten men.
