This is not to praise or dismiss BR, just in general what do we think is the future for BR as a coach wort or without us?

On today’s game. It was an alarming sign for him as a manager.

It was the perfect game today to just attack attack attack West Ham and even play ‘you attack we attack’ game. We’d win that type of game 9/10 times and we are a very tough team to play against when ahead in a game(I only remember losing vs Bournemouth when taking the lead and that was a freak due to again BR ‘going defensive’ at HT and mistakes we gifted). - a freak.

I guarantee if you asked West Ham pre game would you rather Leicester sit back or Leicester play to their strengths and press high, overlap runs and have an extra body in midfield? They would choose the former.

West ham didn’t beat us today, BR beat us. Simple as that. We have a very good team whose a top 6 team on paper. I’m sick of the media thinking he’s some king of genius getting ‘little Leicester’ in the top 6 when the reality is he’s not.

If he don’t learn from it in the next few weeks he will be lucky to get a top job again.

His career So far is not as good as people seem to think. Yes, he was winning in a farmers league with Celtic. At Liverpool he ultimately failed.

He bottled it in the title race with Suarez Sturridge and Stirling bailing him out but all season he didn’t address their defence that costed them time and time again and he didn’t learn, the 3-3 at Palace summing it up, clueless and couldn’t change it.

He then lost his top player and the next season he was clueless and finished half way down the league including an embarrassing 6-1 at Stoke, again showing when the kings start to go wrong he’s a bottle job. Despite Liverpool sticking by him for 15/16, he was useless again , failing to rebuild even a top 4 push and they got rid.

Now this isn’t me saying I want him gone, but just asking Leicester fans, what do you honestly think about BR future?

I don’t want him gone yet, but his limitations pop up again and again and again and again and one more on Sunday! It’s very worrying pattern, the manner we lost and his lack of reacting to situations that are clearly not working. I can see it happening often this year and I’m sick to death of it.

This is one of our best squads in our entire history(in my opinion our best), and I just don’t want to let it pass thinking what could of been!

I believe too many games we lose from wrong tactics and formations rather than actual ability of not being good enough.

Interested to hear the overall consensus.

Sounds like you don't like him. And want him gone.

It's just stoking a fire that doesn't need to be prodded :dunno:

Interesting you didn't start this topic after last week...

Anyone who thinks BR out, probably also thinks Klopp and Pep should leave Liverpool and Man City respectively. Outrageous for anyone to think this way right now.

Why? Klopp has just lost 7-2 to Villa. If you or anyone is going off today's result then surely that's worse. Rodgers has done a great job with us last season to get us 5th and we have made a great start to this season.

No doubt the naysayers will point out our poor form towards the end of last season.

Rather like Klopp then.

This is the problem - no coach is perfect.  I don't on the whole disagree with the criticisms, and it put the tin hat on it today for me when he sent on Hamza with 2 mins to go, so pointless.  But every manager we have does things which the fans criticise. As long as the manager gets most things right on the whole then you have to accept it and get on with it.

Brendan gets a good rapport with the players, seems to be able to improve their play, has a generally positive attitude in his style of play.  On the other hand he shows signs of arrogance and stubbornness at times.  Can you see any other managers that don't have imperfections?

I like him and don’t want him gone. I’ve consistently ignored past career with Liverpool and his lack of bottle and plan b.

It’s becoming too often where we seek to lose games(and look pathetic) when we set up wrong pre game.

Last week it was a free hit, this is different. We are home to West Ham! Anyone who thinks we set up correctly pre game and is suprised we didn’t play as well is either naive or blinded.

Anyway this isn’t to discuss todays game as such but BR in general. I’m very concerned that he will never learn and he makes to many mistakes and has no idea how to change it.

Im worried he will not take us any further but I really want him to prove me wrong because he’s done wonders with Jamie Vardy but he’s showing consistent limitations that are getting to the stage of less bad luck and more big flaws in him being a top coach.

Klopp it’s based on 1 result. Pep getting stick saying ‘he’s a failure if he doesn’t win the CL’ !!!

terrible comparison!

These are serial winners, this is different.

BR got us 5th but we bottled it badly and he showed his flaws in so many games in lockdown.

He bottled the title for Liverpool and everytime I think he’s learning he makes a stupid mistake today. Pre game I knew it and it’s starting to happen a lot of times when pre game it feels inevitable to everyone but him!

I like the guy but its worrying that his ability seems to ultimately be than the ‘nearly’ man.

I honestly think if we got to the EL final vs a tinpot team from pot 4 we’d somehow throw it away by some stupid tactics.

He bottled the title with Liverpool.

he bottled the top 4

he bottled the league cup semi final vs Villa.

He needs to learn from his mistakes it’s as simple as that.

Man City and Liverpool have to win the league given how much money the invest. We do not have the same ambitions as them and are not at the same level as those two clubs. Therefore the comparison is exactly that - we aren't at their levels so we aren't going to or expected to win every game.

What was your opinion on Amartey starting last weekend btw? Pre match, last week, I don't think there was one positive post and everyone came out last week saying what a tactical genius he is, etc.. I didn't think we should have set up in the way we did today but that didn't cost us the game imo. We showed no intensity, gave the ball away, didn't track runners so not much BR or any manager can do there. Liverpool played even worse than us today and they didn't change tactics so that wasn't the issue imo.

You talk about BR bottling the title, but that squad was nowhere near as good as Man City and Chelsea in 13/14. It was amazing they even got that close imo. Bar Ranieri, we've had more success in both the league and Cup competitions under Rodgers than any other manager in the last 20 years. How does that constitute bottling?

I'm not saying he's got everything right, but no manager in the history of football has. We have a 50% win record under Rodgers which is really good.

yup. comparing rodgers scraping fifth to pep and klopp is ridiculous. even if rodgers was to manage man city or liverpool he wouldn't break 90 plus points

In fairness, I have some clueless moron friends who I enjoy going for a drink with. I wouldn't let them take my dog out for a walk though. It takes all sorts to make a world 😁

Tricky. I agree with most of the criticisms on here, but he absolutely has got a great rapport with the players and they mostly seem to work for him. He also, taken over any period you like, gets results. If we win 3 games in every 4 this season I’ll put up with games like today’s, but it is a sickener to see us set up like that against a team like West Ham.

Having said that, have you seen the state of Liverpool and Man Utd’s defending this weekend? Somehow 13 goals shipped between those pair made our 3-0 feel a bit less of a problem.
