I have recently noticed a couple of street post boxes covered over with notices saying they're "closed, automated post boxes coming soon".

How is that going to work and will it reduce staff? @Trav Le Bleu

No. The automated postboxes allow people to drop off prepaid small parcels using the box's scanner or an app, opening a parcel slot and it also gives proof of posting. (Don't ask me exactly how, I'm at the other end of the process). All I know is they bleep when I open them to collect their contents. :dunno:

They also keep the letter posting slot to use as before.

The Fonaghy Report has been grossly misinterpreted by practically every media outlet, in a way that just seems like an excuse for neurodiverse people to be vilified as other groups have been in the past (and still are).

Having watched the last episode of Lego Masters Grand Masters of the Galaxy, can I just say that Brickman is a dickhead who doesn't know what a jeep looks like.

The team that won should have actually been in the bottom 2. Moron!

Brexit was a plot by the perfidious Norman elite against the indigenous Saxo-Celtic peoples of these islands

We were hungover and that's why we lost according to Henry of Huntingdon. Which is believable.

We had Thomas, Duke of Syston, on the left and he failed to see any incoming threat.

Normans had a small guy from Caen in the middle, covered a lot of ground

Two interesting things actually popped up on tiktok for me today.

One was about Messi retiring, and the fact in his last game he was still the best player on the pitch. Guardiola talked about why it's due retiring when others see he's still the best player in that matches, but others compare Messi to other players, whereas Messi compares himself to his younger self. An interesting philosophical way of looking at it. He was the best player at the world cup imo.

The second was more contentious.... It's no wonder reform say there's no room for racists within their party. It's already full to the brim with them.

Our first house that we bought in 1980 for £14 000, has just gone on the market for £265 000.

Inflation over that period should equate a rise to £65 000.

£200 000 above inflation!

The youngsters don't stand a chance.

Same here in Oz.
Mid 1990s... Me working earning $34,000 pa,  Wife at home and one child.
Bought our house for $64,000

Saw that that house sold a couple of months ago for $650,000
So we can assume my current annual income is around $340,000pa right. lol

The current wage and tax structures for wealthy people and corporations are a jke

I think taxes should increase as success increases. Some say that's unfair but I don't think personal or business success happens in a vacuum.

I think small businesses and young and poorly paid people should barely be taxed, and then corporation's and the wealthy be taxed much more, as they're using the national infrastructure, education system, health system etc to stay successful.

But the rich have newspapers, TV channels and very good pr around the fact everybody should have a flat tax rate. As if they don't benefit more from infrastructure that your average person.

Anyway, wrong thread for this really, sorry.
