Getting tense in the England v Afghanistan U19 World Cup game. David Sales's lad has just bowled a nightmare over.

And now took a great catch on the boundary, pleased for him as that over could've ruined him lol

Ahmed was either getting wickets or lose the game, thankfully it's wickets.

Great comebacks from both of them at a crucial time!

England win in the end .

Really turned  it around with good death bowling when under a lot of pressure .

3 wickets in one over for one run.

Silverwood and Giles gone then

Strauss to go back full time in his old role now Giles has gone?

Kirsten as head coach of the test side and a separate white ball head coach someone like McDonald and revert the selection process back to how it was before.

In reality we'll probably end up with Moores back as Head Coach and in charge of selection as well 😂.

Needs separate coaches and a return to selectors. But the ecb never seems to do things the easy way

Good to see Strauss digging out Giles for giving Silverwood the extra responsibility. Didn't rule out Langer for the role either, hadn't even considered him but assuming it's a question now with the stories from Australia about his future.

Graham Thorpe gone now.

Tom Harrison somehow still in charge.

The multiple parallels between the governance of the ECB and the governance of this country continue unabated...

Strauss's interview made it clear they are likely to have separate coach's for test & white ball sides, you'd think it's tailor made for Gary Kirsten.

Agree they need to go back to a selection committee with 1 or 2 outside persons not contracted to the ECB to challenge the thought process.

The fact Kirsten recently said he wants the test job and that Strauss isn't as single minded as Giles in only wanting an English coach it is set up for him isn't it.

No coincidence we were the best side in the world when strauss was running things. I hope they can persuade him to stay.

Would not mind Langer in at all…Australian cricket fans are fuming with the decision

He's a former team-mate of Strauss at Middlesex which is in his favour.

Bought my T20 season ticket for Yorkshire today, £80 for 7 games and a guaranteed seat at the roses match which I thought was good value. Will be wearing Leicester colours for Leicestershire though.

Anderson had the best average and economy rate of all the bowlers.

Board had the second most wickets.

Seems to me like they’re drawing a line under the ashes and starting again. Surprised by their omission, as I do agree that the batting/batting mentality is the major problem. Wouldn’t have minded seeing Livingstone given a nod for the counter attacking role

So what’s the squad then? Imagine the bowlers will be Robinson, Wood, Woakes, Archer?

Archer is still out until the summer at least I think.

Full squad: Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, Zak Crawley, Matthew Fisher, Ben Foakes , Dan Lawrence, Jack Leach, Alex Lees, Saqib Mahmood, Craig Overton, Matt Parkinson , Ollie Pope, Ollie Robinson, Ben Stokes, Chris Woakes, Mark Wood

Crawley getting picked for another few years off the back of one good innings
