Any good? Don't know much about his history.

Ridiculous average at county level, seemed to be concerns about him not being quick enough but did well with the Lions when touring Australia this past Winter. Worst case he can do a very good job in home tests

I couldn't believe that. Looked like he'd been playing for years!

Do you think it's legitimate ?

If he has a birth certificate, then fair enough. Seems dubious to me though.

I've got no other reason to believe otherwise...

It was sensational once again.

He was hitting shots that some senior players twice his age struggle with. Timing is immaculate and his power is crazy for a 14 year old.

Absolutely incredible that Bashir has been so bad this season he’s been sent back by the struggling Division Two side he was on loan to and yet is the only spinner in the England side.

Delighted for Cook and Tongue though (even if the latter is Notts). Throughly deserved.

Great to see Tongue back. From what I've watched this season on the streams, he has looked very quick and bowls a really awkward length for batsmen.

Really interested to see how Cook gets on. On a purely numbers basis, has been the standout bowler in the County Championship for a few seasons now.

From  the BBC:

India captain Rohit Sharma has retired from Test cricket.

It comes after reports in the Indian media on Wednesday that he would be removed as captain for the Test series in England this summer.

Agreed about Bash poor kid. He's regressed quite badly and not even in the top 5 spinners in county circuit.

Dawson, Ahmed x 2, Carson, Leach & Hartley offer more to a side.

Pretty much all of them can bat too.

Not sure Hartley is up to it for tests to be honest, he doesn't get any turn. You know what you're getting with Leach but if we're looking ahead to the Ashes he's been poor in Australia. I like Dawson but think he's burned his bridges with his comments last summer.

Rehan seems to have the highest ceiling so would like to see him given a proper go this summer. If he could gain a bit of consistency he could be England's main spinner and number 8 for the next decade.

Broadly agree but you've picked the wrong Ahmed.

You get away with if Stokes is in form with the bat (which I don't think he has been for a while) but once he's gone we will need a spinner who can be the all-rounder.

Bashir has a decent amount of wickets to be fair to him, his style isn't really suited for county cricket either. I think the Ahmed brothers are the long term answer.
