You've got to give Roach credit because he's quality on his day, and that was some grab form Da Silva, but this top order are beyond parody. Feel sorry for Lees being chucked into this basket case of a line-up at the top.

Not watching any of it, but has it been bad shots or good bowling?

There has been no chance for anyone to get any form I guess and Lees has come in having played little cricket I assume, maybe spent some time In Aus with Lions. Was never going to be easy, and we are traditionally shit in first tests of a series (and the rest more recently)

Sums up England thinking, Root has a record breaking year batting at 4, so we move him to 3.

At 3 he averages 38, compared too 51 at 4 and 67 at 5.

Crazy!

Mixture, I'd say. Crawley's shot was absolutely dreadful.

Waiting so long for test cricket to return to Pakistan and then they have a match like that. Looking at the scorecard, day 5 looked a bit of a farce lol

Australia took 4 wickets for 728 in the test match....good batting or an absolute nothing pitch?

Absolute road of a pitch.

Not a British potholey road, a brand spanking new state of the art one!

Foakes surprising absolutely nobody apart from the selectors, bet Roots seething deep down

Does he not like him?

I've no idea to to fair, it was more just a tongue in cheek dig at the very cozy relationship Root has with Buttler and the selectors.

It’s quite clear that Foakes is the better keeper for the test side…. Butler has failed so much with the bat over the last two years it’s about time someone else was given a chance.

Bairstow and Foakes proving that the selection process is flawed at the ECB.

Bairstow's had a decent career in the Test game but also seems wasted, mainly due to the fact they spent years wondering whether to play him as a keeper or not.

Just let him bat.

And Crawley for the wrong reasons 😂 (expecting at least a double hundred in the second innings now I've said this)

Shame they've robbed Foakes of a few extra years of test cricket really.  It's been painfully obvious for a while he was the best option
