I always rated that "pretend Welsh" from Barnstaple who wore our #10, so it's all good to me.

tbh we (the Welsh) didn't.

 

As much as he's a Leicester legend for that League One season, he did very little for Wales. 

 

That's the thing, as much as our ranks have always been supplemented by decent players from England, our best players have always been actual Welsh. You name any "great" (I know, I know) Welsh player and he probably was born in Wales. There's the rare exception like Michael Owen who was born over the border in Chester because it was the nearest hospital but was still actually Welsh but other than that. :dunno:

 

You want home town hero, Bale went to school in Cardiff with Sam Warburton and Geraint Thomas.

Turkey, Poland, North Macedonia, Ukraine, Austria & Czech Republic unseeded.

Algeria, Nigeria, Cameroon, Egypt, DR Congo, Senegal, Mali, Tunisia, Ghana and Morocco all in to next round for African qualifiers. 

 

Ivory Coast probably the biggest name to miss out.
