Obviously the main thing that sticks out was the Vardy penalty into Row Z when on a hattrick and going for the golden boot.

Other than that fairly average day....

Being sensible, there was just so much going on from start to finish it's hard to even write everything down. Pre-match, the people, Bocelli, the atmosphere in general, the downpour and so much more. I was extremely lucky to be there and see it live.

Going up town after the match, something I hadn't done for years before and haven't done since. What an atmosphere and a great laugh.

My mate Artwell went to the game (I blagged him a ticket) dressed up in Blue and White. He didn't realise that he wasn't supposed to go on the pitch when the trophy was presented so started wandering around taking selfies with all the players including Vardy, Mahrez and Shinji. He even got to hold the trophy. When the payers left the pitch, he followed them into the dressing room and even went to the after dinner meal with the team. Everybody assumed apparently that he was Kante's cousin (Artwell is from Zimbabwe) and nobody asked him who he was. Best bit of blagging ever!

Is he in this photo?

Getting saturated by a biblical downpour on the walk to the ground from the Parcel Yard - where we’d sat outside in the boiling sun - but not caring. Going through the turnstile and joining the deliriously happy throng singing and bouncing to repeat renditions of “we’re all going on a European tour”. Crying tears of joy at Bocelli. Singing myself hoarse through the game, savouring the win and especially the trophy lift and celebrations. Going to Shimla Pinks on London Road afterwards for a curry and a few Cobras and singing along with all the other diners.

I can remember all of this. Because it was one of the best days of my life. But I honestly can’t remember how I got home!

Some brilliant memories on here.

We only had 3 season tickets, but 8 of us came up from Bedford and my nephew came back from New Zealand and managed to get in the Everton bit.

For my kids, as well as so many others that were told (ordered) City was the team for them, this made it all worthwhile after wearing their Leicester shirts for years amongst kids that wore the top sides shirts, but never went.

The day had everything, I laughed, cheered and cried in equal measure.

The only downside was I said I'd dye my hair blue if we won the league, but whatever I used stayed on my head for months after.

What an utter twat I looked 😄

Good thread. Great reading. My evening was weird. Son was supposed to be coming round so we could watch the match together at the Bridge. He couldn’t, so I had champagne on ice and was totally alone! Obviously, I didn’t dare open it until Chelsea pulled a goal back. Then the evening just went nuts. Everyone was going bonkers, yet I was in this totally isolated bubble, quaffing champers and managing congratulations from every person I’ve ever known that was into footy. Surreal, but beyond joy. Isolated, but never felt more of a collective. The footy collective. The glow from the love of the football fraternity, that evening, still keeps me warm. Suspect it always will.

Think you might have your dates mixed up. 5 years on was when we lifted the trophy vs Everton. 5 days previous was the Chelsea Spurs game.

Flew to Cyprus in the afternoon with my wife and mother. Wore my City top with immense pride and a huge smile. One of the stewardesses was a City fan, she hadn't been able to get the day off. She managed to get the score before we landed. I started some singing on the plane, some lads further back joined in. Watched the extensive highlights on the internet when we got to the villa and I drank Keo into the night. Still sad that I missed the big day and the Victoria Park celebrations.

I had worked booked in Hounslow so wasn't able to go...then the fixture was put back to a 5.30 kick off so I was in with a shout!

Finished my work at 4pm (It was an exam based module I was teaching that should have lasted til 5pm - imagine their surprise when I told them they'd all passed by 4pm, about half way through their actual exam)! So I thought that I'd give it a go to get up to the ground for kick off - I didn't have a ticket but assumed that I would be able to get one there.

Bombed up the M25  - traffic parted like the Red Sea and made it in reasonable time. Went to park at my usual pub on the Narborough Road but it was full. As I was deliberating what to do a car pulled out of the car park and I parked up - chucked the owner a fiver as per usual and headed to the ground looking for pissed up Everton fan that didn't want their ticket.

Took longer than I thought but managed to get one just after the post horn gallop - paid £100 (was expecting to pay at least five times that, so was happy...although a little paranoid that I had about a grand in cash shoved down my socks (!) and went in. Needed a visit to the gents and to grab a beer so I'd just sat down when Vardy scored and the party really started!

I know the birth of the kids/wedding day/blah blah blah is supposed to be the best day of your life...but c'mon...
