Who wouldn’t ?

a first euro trophy and CL seeded pot 1 following season

no brainier

....it would be great to win a European trophy, but I would rather get to Champions League via the league position!!!

We know the rules regarding possible routes to Champions League but via the League has got to be the way for me.

Season ticket money is now pocket change compared to this 😳😳😳

It’s a joke! They could easilly knock off 100/200£ at least for season tickets and they’d only lose a couple of million.

Knock it off STs and you have to match that for walk-ups. You're talking about £3m to £6m per season depending on how much you knock off. Not sure many businesses would happily lose 3.3% of turnover.

The other problem is what happens if TV Money is drastically cut and the club decide they have to add £200 quid to the price of a ST?

The best idea would be if you followed the away pricing rule and applied an upper limit of £35 to standard prices, that'd have Daniel Levy a tad worried.

Every penny counts.Which is why they charge eight quid for a Leicester coffee mug,and they sell.My Dad buys me one every birthday.The trouble with reducing ticket prices at the top of the chain is that the rest of the pyramid would have to follow suit.Ruinous at the best of times.

A European trophy and a being pot 1 in the cl vs likely pot 4. Seems like a no brainer for me.

So given the choice at the start of this season  you would’ve rather we got Europa league by finishing 5th in the league instead of winning the FA Cup?

...winning the F.A. Cup obviously....!!!

 Winning the F.A.Cup is more than where it takes us in respect of European competition, it stands on its own.

 Neither am I saying that should we win the Europa, then I would turn around and say "no thank you" to Champions League Competition, that would be insane , never mind foolhardy.

Getting into Champions league via league position would say so much about who and what we are and moreover sends a message to the clubs with deep pockets, that their wealth, is no longer a guarantee to the riches Champions League offers.

It may say all of that, but it will still put us in pot 4 and we could easily get bombed out of the CL without a win. Which will undo any statement a top 4 finish might make.

Win the Europa League you get a nice shiny trophy, a fvck ton of European experience, a much improved coefficient and top seed for the group stages in the CL where we could actually win the group like we did in 2016, massively boosting our coffers and coefficient. Get a second place team in the next round win that and then lose to Atleti.

O_o

2-4th you win nothing and are not remembered for it in history books, get pot 4.

Win europa, pot 1 and a trophy, plus more coefficient for winning european games.

I saw segment on a sports program that Chelsea will greatly benefit financially with a place in the CL than Leicester City does by winning the FA Cup.

No comparison..

But I suppose winning the F A Cup isn't about financial reward.

PL PRIZE MONEY = £141.3M + £5M (FA CUP + TV) + £10M (UEFA + TV) =

£156.3M (TOTAL PRIZE MONEY)

+ (NEW SPONSORSHIP) = £30M (CIRCA)

= £186.3M

- £97M (PLAYERS WAGES)

= £89.3M (+ PLAYER SALES)

= £130M (TOTAL GUESS OF £40M SALES)

Plenty of players gone I.e. Dimi, Morgan, Fuchs and others to be sold.

I think FFP becomes obsolete this year due to the following uefa rule and its generic application to all clubs;

 ensuring equal treatment of clubs where the impact of COVID-19 may be realised in different reporting periods due to clubs’ various fiscal year ends and domestic league calendars;

If ever there was a time to take our club and players that little bit further in a year without selling any top stars then do it now.

*please bear in mind I am god awful with numbers*
